Ok so our area are a bit mad about parking bays,
The local residents committee have just instructed a parking warden to operate in the area because people going to town, the train station or hospital often park in our spaces.
Some of the neighbours are really het up about their parking spaces. I use my (1) bay and keep to it.
One neighbour has 2 spaces, the other side also have 2 spaces. Plus there’s a visitor bay.
So all in all, there’s an empty space each side of my car.
I got into my car this morning, one bins just in my bay. Doesn’t really affect me cos I can get around it.
I took DD to an early morning club, I come back and there’s another bin in my fucking bay, only now I can’t get in.

To be honest, I pulled up and put the bin in their bay.... whilst they watched out of the window. I don’t usuallh get so het up about this kind of stuff, but to be honest our neighbours are all a bit “funny”

Bins need to be hidden in the back garden until the morning they’re taken out, the neighbours told me off for using the visitors bay that we share (they wanted the 3rd permananently- their argument is they both drive and may want visitors (we both also drive! But only have one bay. So we gave up second car as to not cause problems by stealing visitor bay all the time!)

The other side have a tiny car which they often park between their 2 bays. It’s their bay so they can do as they like.

My point is just, to be so funny about their own spaces, then to use mine as a place for their bins has aggravated me.

I’m honestly starting to feel like I’m surrounded by arseholes.

That wouldn't work Drink as the op.would have the mess.all over her space!!

starfishmummy · 12/01/2018 09:29

Ps this is a parking thread....wheres the diagram I can't believe no one else has mentioned the lack thereof

MrsSteveMcDonald · 12/01/2018 09:29

How very kind of them to offer their bin for you to use :)

FizzyGreenWater · 12/01/2018 09:31

You are FAR too placid - no wonder they take the piss.

I would knock and remind them that bins are to be kept in the back. They are less likely to get STOLEN that way, yes?

And then if there is a next time I predict that the bins, with their number clearly on them, might indeed get STOLEN, at night, when they aren't watching out of the window like loons. And transported quite a distance away, even.

I am quite good at predicting things like that.

PoisonousSmurf · 12/01/2018 09:34

I like it @fizzygreenwater. I'd push over their bin (on their bay). Don't start fights with me...

Shadow666 · 12/01/2018 09:34

Oh, come on. Its a parking space with a bin in it. Use your imaginations a little!

BitOutOfPractice · 12/01/2018 09:34

Oh yes, get their bin ticketed!

Seeline · 12/01/2018 09:34

I am assuming the bin had still to be emptied?

Otherwise if the bin men had been, if they are anything like ours, the bins end up no where near where they started. we live on quite a busy, although still residential road and sometimes you have to reclaim your bin from houses on the other side of the road!

Where are the bins normally put for collection?

Locotion · 12/01/2018 09:36

Log it with 101

hungryhippo90 · 12/01/2018 09:40

Haha... I’m gonna do draw a diagram. I knew I was being U let me go find my essentials for drawing!

YouTheCat · 12/01/2018 09:43

Changed the sticker on their bin so they think it's been stolen and then they have to go get a new one. If they do it again, do the same. Keep collecting their many bins until you've got about 4 or 5 and then put them all back in their space. If you have any stickers from foreign parts, put those on so it looks like the bins have been away for a nice holiday. Grin

ArcheryAnnie · 12/01/2018 09:46

they wanted the 3rd permananently- their argument is they both drive and may want visitors

This alone entitles them to their Cheeky Fuckery Badge, OP. It's amazing how some people think their whine of "but I NEEEEEED it (even though I don't really)" will get them anything they want.

sobeyondthehills · 12/01/2018 09:53

The local residents committee have just instructed a parking warden to operate in the area because people going to town, the train station or hospital often park in our spaces.

You can't just instruct a parking warden to turn up, unless your parking bays are permit only and operated by the council

hungryhippo90 · 12/01/2018 09:54

Here’s my diagram. My car doesn’t currently have wheels. and our cars are very box like.

They put their BIN in my parking bay!!!

Sobey- I don’t know what to tell you, but we do have a private parking company who are issuing tickets and have given us permits and badges- am happy to send a pic of the paperwork to your inbox.

Just stick their bin in the Visitors bay,
Then the other side wil have a go for you.

OhCalamity · 12/01/2018 10:07

Set your alarm for 3am, go and knock their bin onto it's side spilling some contents onto their parking spot. At 9am ring the residents committee and complain about the rubbish strewn around. Repeat until the fuckwits get the message and vaguely complain about 'youths these days'

Years and years ago when I lived in a rented shared house we put out our bin bags too early. We were young and clueless I guess. Anyway, in the morning as I was rushing out the door to work, all our rubbish was strewn around the cul de sac. The bags had been torn apart probably by foxes. Anyway being the arrogant little twat I was, I assumed the bin men would clear it up. They did. They swept it up into a nice smelly knee high pile right up against our front door. Which we had to wade through to get into the house. It was disgusting, but taught us a right lesson.

So a few days of having to pick up their rubbish might sort them out.

Oldraver · 12/01/2018 10:17

Is that one or two 'not your bins' ? and how come you have on space and the neighbours two ?

Oldraver · 12/01/2018 10:21

Yes Yes to planners just not thinking. There is an estate near us that's now about 15 years old. The planners in their not much wisdom decided that they didn't want to see cars out on the street so made most of the housing terraced with parking in little car parks round the back. They envisigned a lovely estate where everyone walked/cycled and you could forget cars existed

Only they allowed for 1.5 spaces per house, most people in this town have to commute, so two cars per house is the norm. Of course now there are cars all over the place all parked along the road

hungryhippo90 · 12/01/2018 10:26

Oldraver- TWO not my Bins... two! This is why I’m blown away. Two people decided to use my one bay.

Ah. We’re renters, our landlord didn’t buy an extra bay, whereas the neighbours did which has been a bit of an annoying thing as now it’s a shared V bay which otherwise would have been our second, and that fact alone meant we got rid of our second car, because fairs fair, we wouldn’t have been right to have taken the v bay more than 50% of the time, which we would have if we kept second car.

I think that’s the annoying thing.... we’ve gone out of our way to be as fair as possible to the neighbours they repay us by using our one bay for their bins, when they both have bays that are EMPTY at that moment. Pisstaking at its finest.

Thats a very nice diagram. Flowers

Mammasmitten · 12/01/2018 10:28

YouTheCat great idea. Yes change the sticker on their bins Grin. Great diagram Op. It seems a bit unfair that everyone else gets two parking spots and you only get one Angry That visiter parking spot looks like it should be yours. Maybe every second spot should have a v painted on it so everyone gets two spots. One for them and one for their own visitor. That would be much fairer Wink

Bumsnetnetbums · 12/01/2018 10:28

Borrow an old banger to park in their bay. For 6mths.
Turn the bin on its side so the rubbish falls out all over their other place.

Mammasmitten · 12/01/2018 10:42

Ah, I just read your landlord didn't buy the extra car parking spot. Cheap bastard. I rent too. I guess it doesn't affect him/her so doesn't care. I had a neighbor who for one reason or another lost his house and ended up living in his investment property, a 3 bedroom unit. He whinged that his hot water system was inadequate because he installed a really small one as he was renting it out and never thought he'd end up living there. Hahahaha Grin I love it when people get their just desserts.

I could be very wrong but I have never heard of it, I don't need proof, its just a new thing I have learnt
