WIBU to ask them to wait for 4 days

NC for this because I'm embarrassed.

Booked a holiday cottage for March before Christmas and paid 1/3 as deposit. The balance is due 6 weeks before which is 27th Jan as it turns out.

I don't think my brain registered that date when I booked it. I've had one biggish unexpected expense this month, more than the balance will be.

My financial situation is very tight and I never have spare money so this has left me in the situation where I'm unable to pay the balance on 27th.

WIBU to ask the holiday company if I could pay on 31st? For info it's not a massive holiday company but it's not booked directly with the owner either.

I suppose I'm worried that if I ring and ask they will say no and I will also lose the deposit.
(No one I can borrow off unfortunately).

I did that last year - asked for an extra week's extension on the deadline for payment as I'd to unexpectedly replace a cooker. They were lovely and understood totally and extended my deadline for me.

If you paid online you will get and email request and then have a while to pay it, so it won’t matter.

Otherwise I’d ask to pay some on the 27th and the rest on the 31st.

OP, ring them - the 31st will be fine.

I've used them before, give them a call they're lovely- I'm sure they'll help. (We had problem with needing to swap holiday dates rather than payment dates but they were helpful)

Small companies have much more scope for flexibility than large ones - should be fine

Good luck Smile
