I bought one of those spring epilators before xmas and today plucked up the courage to do above my top lip.

Jesus wept. I'd rather go through labour without gas and air.

Will the circus accept a middle aged woman with black facial hair?!

if all it requires is sitting round on my backside, I will join you...

Face Fur. I'm overdue a visit to the groomers. Black chin hairs....I've made my daughters promise to see to it when I no longer can.

I do use the creams....

LuluJakey1 · 11/01/2018 21:13

I was drying my hair one mornng and found a white bristle about an inch long sticking horizontally out of the middle of my forehead. Dh claimed he 'hadn't noticed' it, I hadn't noticed it. How could it have grown in such a strange place. It was really thick and coarse and pure white.
I plucked it and it has never grown back.
Am experiencing more coarse chin hairs that only plucking deals with and have to check daily.

Find a salon that uses Lycon wax, seriously it’s so good for sensitive bits.

Fluffyears · 11/01/2018 21:53

Why don't people just use Nair? Or veet? confused I have my fair share of hair grin

Because every brand gives me an attractive chemical bur, that’s why 🙄

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 11/01/2018 21:55

I'm lucky enough to be able to veet my upper lip - but it's it's a weekly event. Chin hairs started 3 years ago - pube like, and I can see more long thin ones growing which become thick and black over a couple of months.

Is this normal for early 30s?!

OVienna · 11/01/2018 22:01

I've had Face Fur since university. And grey hair.

Teacherontherun · 11/01/2018 22:35

I love my spring stick thingy!! Took a few goes to get the hang of it but now I love it. I sit in bed watching TV extracting those nasty little buggers without too much pain

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

You're ripping hair out by the roots!!!

How the fuck is that 'easier' or less painful than threading or waxing?

Teacherontherun · 11/01/2018 23:10

Hahaha, I don't know, I guess the hairs become less thick?? I get a bit if sadistic pleasure out of checking the spring after a roll!

Anymajordude · 11/01/2018 23:16

The springy sticks are good for the chin but painful on the top lip. I use a JML shaver wand trimmer thingy.

TammySwansonTwo · 11/01/2018 23:17

lana you should watch 30 Rock

"I'd like to introduce you to Tom"

CharizMa · 11/01/2018 23:18

Loving the monty python vibe.

I'm so hairy, I have to get up two hours before I go to bed to epilate. I'm only half joking.

sillysausage16 · 11/01/2018 23:19

My dp reckons that nair is short for ney hair 😂.

I've also bought a springy thing, and my face is quite fuzzy all over.

It's excruciating

Snowdrop18 · 11/01/2018 23:19

I find it fine with the epilator but I tried threading once - never again.

Plus my upper lip was bright red after threading - not with epilator.

Merryoldgoat · 11/01/2018 23:20

Nair and similar doesn't work on very thick facial hair - I've tried them l all.

The things I pull out of my chin and the edges of my 'tache are like black eyebrow hairs. Creams just burn around the fucking hair.

Threading to get rid of the fuzz, tweezers deal with the proper big bastards. And as it's hormonal laser and IPL aren't permanent solutions.

This has served as a reminder to put my spare tweezers into my hospital bag for my c-section as I left looking like a werewolf last time.

CharizMa · 11/01/2018 23:21

Nair is a portmanteau of no hair, that's right! I believe it's a Spanish company.

NeversayNever2 · 11/01/2018 23:40

I would use laser in a flash if I thought it would help but many ladies with hormone issues it may not

LightDrizzle · 12/01/2018 00:48

The last time I had my eyebrows threaded, the threader asked if I wanted the rest of my face doing. Repeatedly. She seemed rather concerned. I had a bit of a look in the mirror later and I must say my fine blond fluffy sideburns are looking a bit luxuriant. If I get them threaded will I have stubble? I’d rather have blond fur than stubble or the bastards growing back black to spite me or something.
Can anyone report in their experience?
