To move pre schools?

In March my ds turn 3. And i would like to take up the 30hrs per week free funding. So today I asked his pre school about the funding. The pre schools opening hour were designed to match the 15 hours provided free. I was told last year they would be changing to match the 30 hours. But I found out today they are currently sticking to open hours based on 15 hours.

My boy likes the pre school, so do I. But I am gutted they are not opening for the 30 hours. Because I think the 30hrs will give him a better education over 15 hours and as a busy single parent it'll give me more of a break. The primary school he will be going to opened a nursery last year that does the 30 hours funding. AIBU to more my boy because I would feel like I stabing the other place that has been so good to both ds and dd in the past. Plus they are strugling (no doubt due to the 30 hrs thing) and this could be another nail in the coffin?

Regardless of everything you just said. If the new nursery is attached to the school he would be going to I'd move him on that basis alone. And I have done this.

I avoided a nursery that was offering 30 hours funding as it was clear it was a shambles. they had to bring staff in from other nurseries to help and have 80 children at the moment I believe (I know someone who works

Sorry I hadn't finished

I know someone who works there and it's just a riot she tells me.

You have to do what's right for your ds though, regardless of the impact it might have on the existing pre-school. I would want to visit the primary's pre-school to get a feel for it. It would be a reasonable advantage to be getting his F1 stage in the same primary he will attending, as long as you are satisfied with their set up and feel your ds will be happy there. Plus you will be getting your 30 hours...

I do think it's a good policy to visit a few before you make any sort of decision, it's amazing how different a school setting can be in reality as opposed to just "on paper".

Do you work at the moment op? What do you do with regards to wrap around at the current pre school? Could you ask your wrap around provider if they can provide the extra 15 hours?

I’d move him. It will help with the transition to school to be on the same campus too.

I’m assuming you drop his sister there too so more convenient?

Looneytune253 I work 35 hours a week, 4 days. I am fortunate that I have family in the area my kids go to school. At the moment if it a day I'm working (altering days with my work roster) my mum or sister in law picks him up till I finish work.

Invisimamma I do. His pre school is close to her school and as most of the kids have siblings that go to the school his current pre school open 15 mins after the primary school drop off.
