Everyone forgot my birthday

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/01/2018 20:17

My whole family, my best friends, and most of my work colleagues.
I know it's just a birthday. I make such a fuss on everyone when it's their birthday. All I wanted was a card/text/Facebook message.

Meh.
I'm extra grumpy because I've spent all day in bed unwell so been constantly checking my phone which hasn't helped.

Happy Birthday to exitlight too!!!!CakeFlowersWine!!!!

DumbledorePlum · 09/01/2018 20:39

Happy birthday! I think everyone would forget my birthday if I didn't drop major hints every year. Maybe I won't drop hints this year as a little experiment

Hassled · 09/01/2018 20:40

That absolutely sucks - I'm sorry. But call them on it. If they've forgotten this year there's no reason why they'll remember next year - this will be birthdays forever if you don't actually say "you forgot my birthday".

BetterEatCheese · 09/01/2018 20:42

Happy Birthday!!

welsh26 · 09/01/2018 20:42

Happy birthday op.

If it's only virtual gifts I'm giving you a new sports car and a house in the Hollywood hills with a private jet at your disposal. I'll even throw in a few hours with Tom Hardy since you're feeling down Wink

brizzledrizzle · 09/01/2018 20:43

Happy Birthday. You can't expect work colleagues to remember your birthday though - none of my work colleagues even know when my birthday is and that suits me fine; I'm not interested in having a fuss made about it at work.

My family always remember though, I'd expect them too just like they expect me to remember theirs.

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2018 20:47

Happy BD.

I usually only remember people's birthday when Facebook reminds me or if people say it's their birthday. Or, even better, provide cakes. Grin

Your whole family forgot? DH, DP, Parents, siblings?

grannytomine · 09/01/2018 20:48

January birthdays are tough. Two of my kids are January babies, I text round the family to remind them. Amazingly people do regularly forget.

Happy birthday.

WheresTheHooferDoofer · 09/01/2018 20:49

I'd agree with letting your family and friends know that they all forgot your birthday. If you don't you do really run the risk of this happening again because it'll form the impression in their heads that you're not that fussed. I speak from experience.

category12 · 09/01/2018 20:49

Happy birthday!!!

GreenTulips · 09/01/2018 20:50

I'll send you a Caribbean island with waiter servive private chef and spa treatments

Happy birthday. CakeWine.
One people... forgetting is a accidental
Two people.... Coincidental accident.
Everyone..... People have remembered and don't give a shit. Sorry to say. ((((((()))))))

Stop making a fuss of their birthdays.
I don't see them running around like a blue arse fly for you.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/01/2018 20:53

Happy birthday, birthday twin @exitlight

Aw thank you all! My job I only have 4 colleagues and it's on the calander also. Oops.

Dp remembered but didn't get me anything but got a card from dc so I appreciated that.

I've messaged my mum, dad, sibling and best friends about it. Just going to get drunk Friday and buy myself something!

Thank you for the virtual presents, they've very much cheered me up :)

Aw happy birthday OP!
If it makes you feel any better, my DP forgot mine once too and I was so upset. He remembered eventually and felt terrible. I milked it for AGES.

I hope you at least have some cake. X

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2018 20:58

Why the fuck did your 'D'H get you nothing?

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 09/01/2018 20:59

Awh. Happy Birthday anyway. Take all the cash you spend on all these colleagues, siblings etc birthdays and blooming well give yourself a fab birthday blow out at the weekend. Facials the lot and When the next birthday fuss about someone who hasn't made you feel loved comes around... you know what to do..

giveitfive · 09/01/2018 21:00

Wishing you've happy birthday!!!

Utter bastards forgetting. It says more about them than you. Cunts.

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2018 21:01

Are your FB settings working properly? I'd changed mine so that nobody could post on my wall once - so got no messages.

Taffeta · 09/01/2018 21:03

H I’ve made you a massive cake!

It has five layers, and loads of drooling innards and icing everywhere

Blow out the candles!

Cake

It’s a tricky time of the year for a birthday eh. Everyone thinking they’ve got Christmas presents for everyone and can forget about stuff for a bit.

It’s not you, it’s January.
