AIBU?

To think the families on Wanted Down Under are a bit spoilt/delusional?

Almost every episode involves a family with pretty average jobs living in your average 3 bedroom semi detached. They go to Australia and turn their noses up at massive houses because they don't have pools and walk in wardrobes. Or they're 10 minutes from the beach rather than right across the road

They never seem to want to start off a few rungs down from their eventual goal, it all has to happen right away.

They all want identikit houses too- those shiny kitchens and acres of cream carpet. I'd like to see one where the family was after something a little different personally!

The one I saw recently had the woman complaining about the colour of sofas in houses in NZ. Talk about concentrating on the wrong things.

It's 15 yrs since we moved from London (which we loved) to NZ and it really was like arriving in paradise. Within 3 weeks we'd found good jobs and a cool apartment, walking distance to work. We arrived in the summer and go to the beach after work.

But the most memorable thing was how friendly and helpful people were to us, we were invited everywhere!

We had intended to spend just one year in NZ but we're still here. We gave a home we couldn't have dreamed of in the UK, kids are in fantastic schools and I still feel incredibly lucky.
