To think the council need to make parking restrictions clearer on their website?

I'm a blue badge holder. I have to go to the pain clinic regularly and parking is horrendous. It's near a main road, there are no car parks and everywhere is resident permit parking. So the last time I went I was struggling to park and asked a traffic warden where I could park and she said 'anywhere, as long as you aren't causing an obstruction and display your badge'. All fine.

Today I went again. Came out to find I have a £70 pcn. I have come home and gone to appeal but it says that because it was a No Loading zone, having a blue badge does not grant me leave to appeal. I've appealed anyway.

This was what I've stated:

I was attending the pain clinic at Pain clinic house this morning and parked at 10am. I displayed my Blue Badge clearly in the window. On a previous visit to this location I had stopped to ask a Traffic Warden where I could park and she stated anywhere as long as I am displaying my badge. I was not blocking an entrance or exit and was not against a dropped kerb.

I have looked at the rules for blue badge holders on the citizens advice web page www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/help-for-disabled-travellers1/blue-badge-scheme/using-your-blue-badge/ And note it states the following:

Some councils let blue badge holders park even if there is a No Loading sign.

It then takes you to a link to check with your local council. I have searched the Local council Website and nowhere does it state clearly that you cannot park in a No Loading zone with a blue badge.

In fact you don't list ANY regulations for Blue badge on street parking. Therefore I am appealing the PCN on the basis that a) I was previously told I could park anywhere providing I wasn't causing an obstruction b) I was clearly displaying my blue badge and c) that local Council's website does not make it clear that they do not allow disabled parking in a No Loading zone.

I look forward to hearing that my PCN is cancelled.

I am bloody gutted. We are generally broke and I really can't afford £70 hence always making sure that I don't get a ticket. I have always stuck to the rules of using a blue badge. DP is going away for two weeks this weekend and we will be without his wage coming in (not something he can avoid). Just urgh!!

Thanks, I doubt they will but there's nothing to lose really. Even if I appeal and lose I would still get the discount rate of £35 for two weeks, at least it buys me some time to get the money together.

I am so careful where I park. I have a parking permit from the council to park for free (permit wasn't free, it was £40) and when I got my badge I read the book religiously to make sure I didn't break any laws.

The link to our councils rules on parking just brings up loads of stuff about beach parking, Christmas parking, residents permits etc and absolutely nothing on blue badge on street parking.

I'm hoping on that basis that they may waive it.
