(although there is a bouquet with the brickbat Grin)

Last week I had reason to contact a government department for a service. I was able to start and pay for the process online, and then submit a paper document which I put in the post on Friday.

GOOD: Service has been completed
BAD: I have just received an email telling me the document will be delivered today between 8:00 and 18:00 Sad. Which would be great if it weren't for the fact it needs signing for, and - thanks to the minus one hours notice - there will be no one in.

First world problem I know ... especially as the reality is the speed of service is phenomenal. They must have received, processed and returned the document yesterday, in one day.

I think with signed for, they go to a neighbor to sign if you are out?
Can you let your neighbours know?

I can't rearrange delivery as it's already out for delivery. Neighbours have left for work (and even if I had known yesterday, I couldn't have done anything).

I guess I'll have to suck up the irony that by being so incredibly efficient, it'll actually take a lot longer to get the document.

Can't you collect and sign for the letter after work at your local sorting office?

It's not Royal Mail, it's DX mail Sad
