Expected to work despite being unwell

I feel fucking awful yet the expectation is that I will pitch up again tomorrow for another 10 hour shift where my feet won't touch the ground. I'm exhausted and everything hurts despite paracetemol. Coughing up all manner of shite. Had to change contracts recently and despite working there for years I am on six months probation and won't get paid if I go sick. My line manager made it clear today that she would be less than impressed if I went sick tomorrow as a member of staff is on holiday. I am dead on my feet - going to bed soon in the hope that I'll feel better in the morning but really??? I don't want to be a grown up anymore

Reading between the lines am pretty sure we have the same employer Lem. Do not let them bully you. My CD runs the place on the fewest staff possible, they're obsessed with coming in under budget so they get their nice juicy bonus. Well I've just had 2 weeks off sick with flu meaning cancellation of all procedures. They are so short sited and just can't seem to see more staff=more revenue. The reason I caught flu was down to a colleague who has martyrdom syndrome and came in sick, a non clinical member of staff too which resulted in pretty much all the clinical staff becoming Ill. Unfortunately in our business like many there's the ridiculous culture of expecting staff to work when ill, don't get sucked into it, put your health first.

Went in - struggled through and my line manager let me go an hour early. Now in bed feeling very sorry for myself

I figured that was the case due to radio silence. Why are you acting as though your employer has the authority to dictate to you whether or not you are ill enough to work?

DH had a colleague go in with Aussie flu just before Christmas, we both ended up with flu over Christmas as did his other work colleague so the whole of his department were off ill and I missed the best part of a week from my job.

'Encouraging' people in when they're too ill to be in work is a terrible idea. If that first person working with DH had just stayed home at least three other people could have avoided flu.

If you decide to change roles after TUPE it'd perfectly legal for them to get you to sign a new contract and lose all your old benefits. It would not be as part of the TUPE, but afterwards if you move roles, it would.

It beat me - am in bed and been to Dr who says I have a particular nasty virus that has pretty much been knocking folk off their feet for two weeks Shock now missed a days training and I have exams coming -so cross with myself.

My day off tomorrow but if I'm still sick on Friday they will have to manage

Join the club. I went off sick on Monday. I feel really bad about it. I work for the nhs and the trust is on black etc etc.
My manager sees it as just a cold. I ended up seeing gpooh , I have a mixture of migraines and something viral. I'm unsteady on my feet and today started with snotty nose and sore throat.
Lots of hot tea and paracetamol and rest up. Hope we both feel better soon OP
