To think it's not normal behaviour from my DP's 7yo DS?

She's just turned 7... her mum walked out on them when she was 3, to go live with a new guy but sees them a few times a week now.

She is extremely preoccupied with private body parts, especially male ones Hmm She will say words like willy, nuts, balls, boobs, nipples to name a few, but, she will also grab and fondle my DP and her grandfather, whilst stating something like 'daddy's nuts are squishy' Shock WTF?!

Now DP and his parents laugh it off - he tells me she's getting all this from YouTube, but she watches videos of animated dancing willies and bums all the time, it's close to obsession Confused

She is a very disturbed little girl, very clingy and baby-like (wants to sit in baby high chairs in Maccies, etc) but gets away with everything!

I'm just very unnerved atm with the obsessive preoccupation with all things sexual? Or am I being OTT and it's just mere curiosity? Hmm

MyBrilliant I'm deeply in love with him and our relationship has been lovely so far, apart from this Sad

How can you be deeply in love with a man who ignores all the signs of sexual abuse in his daughter?

How can you stay with a man when your presence in his life hurts his daughter to this extent? She is seriously damaged and you can't help (except by reporting.)

Strange thing is, I've looked at the NSPCC website re this, and nowhere does it actually state that it's nothing more than mere curiosity Hmm

Christ ScouseBird, my DD has also just turned 7 and there is no way any of that is acceptable. She doesn't know what sex is, doesn't grab body parts, doesn't watch videos like that- she certainly has a healthy interest in what's between her legs and where babies come from but the rest of it - no way. Could you talk to your DP about it?

SilverdaleGlen · 07/01/2018 23:36

Sorry but that shit isn't just YouTube, and family laughing it off is disturbing.

I am surrounded by children of the same age and absolutely none have that vocab or behaviour.

You don't know this family at 7 months and I'd be seriously suspecting abuse. Your sister is right, report to protect the girl and get your children THE FUCK away from them.

Then seriously look at your own boundaries that you even thought to accept it for a moment before you bring anyone else near your kids.

I (hopefully) have added an image of the types of videos kids are watching. I don't want to seem dismissive or overly focused on this topic, because it could be unrelated to YouTube - however you mentioned it and I think if she is 'obsessed' as you say then perhaps she's picking it up. I'm not sure why he doesn't seem to care though Confused

I have built such a lovely bond with his DS who is 10, same age as my eldest DS Sad

I guess I could report it anon, but then wouldn't be able to give as much detail Confused

Children who have experienced sexual abuse often display hyoersexualised tendencies. Her behaviour is a cry for help as is the fact that she thinks it’s a normal thing to do in front of other adults. Please speak to her dad, but if he does nothing you need to raise it with local SW.

ScouseBird8364 · 07/01/2018 23:39

Silverdale your comments are actually very thought provoking, and I think I need to have a serious hard think about it all Sad

Stop making excuses and call them. Those are classic signs of sexual abuse and you need to do something about it.

you need to ring social services tomorrow! This is a safeguarding matter!
What she's doing is NOT normal for that age.
