to ask how to clean limescale of toilet?!

I live in an area with very hard water and the toilet is full of lovely limescale, despite cleaning it regularly.

I've tried scrubbing it with a bit of bleach but no luck.

I hear vinegar is supposed to be good? If so, what type of vinegar? I'm guessing not balsamic Wink

Or does anyone have any other helpful tips or products?

We had this problem when we moved into our new house, the previous owner rented it out for over 6 years, we got a cleaning company in and they told us to buy spirits of salts, we got ours from Homebase but you can get them in lots of places. They poured it into the toilets, left it for 4 hours and then gave it a bit of a scrub, we had to do one that wasn’t used often so the scale had built up again but the difference was amazing! The loos were shiny! We put it down them every 6 months and it keeps them clear.

We tried various ways/cleaners but nothing really worked until my DP put on his thick chemical gloves from work & cut down an empty plastic bottle to make a scoop to remove the water. Everything is diluted if the water is still there.

I use coca cola to keep mine clean

Yes I will definitely try and remove as much water as I can first (yuk!), seems to be the way to go!

Another vote for Harpic Power plus, I use this all the time as we too live in hard water area. If the limescale build up is pretty bad then ideally you need to leave it overnight but once you are on top of it then doesn't need long at all, 20 mins twice a week.

My water line is fine but what do you use for that bit under the seat rim.
