Zog · 25/04/2007 13:43

I've never ever seen 1st Birthday invites anywhere. I think this tells us something.

notasheep · 25/04/2007 13:43

didnt think 1 year olds had many friends

Taylormama · 25/04/2007 13:44

yes u are

AnnabelCaramel · 25/04/2007 13:44

I'm suprised simply because they seem to have a card to cover every possible occaision in the world ever.

KateF · 25/04/2007 13:45

Not sure why you need special invitations. Most people seem to use general party invitations and write "Ist birthday" on them or just make them themselves. Hope you find something suitable anyway

lemonaid · 25/04/2007 13:46

I don't think there is significant demand, TBH. Out of all of the children I know around DS's age, precisely one had a first birthday party. And his parents just used regular children's part invitations without apparent lasting damage to his psyche.

So YABU, I think.

Ladymuck · 25/04/2007 13:46

You don't tend to get invitations for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th birthday either ime. You can get loads of "You are invited to a birthday party" invites, in a wide variety of themes.

lemonaid · 25/04/2007 13:47

In answer to question, for DS's first birthday my parents came up and we had one friend round for cake. No invitations.

SoupDragon · 25/04/2007 13:48

Print your own!

heiferCROCloather · 25/04/2007 14:32

Taylormama - Hi, I made my own for DD 1sts, but I have seen them here

there at loads on here, just click on the themes for 1yr old

I have used this website loads of times and never let me down, even when I have left it to the last minute....

Have fun

kslatts · 25/04/2007 14:32

With my dd's their first birthday parties were for family and a couple of close friends, we didn't even send invitations.

You are being unreasonable, why would any business stock something that there is no demand for.

I have seen 1st birthday invites in a mail order catalogue, cant remember the name but maybe you could buy them online.

Taylormama · 25/04/2007 14:36

thanks heifer - will check that link!

Write to the MD and complain. He has the same (first) name as the company so it's quite easy to work out ;). In fact the company was named after him!! They do read customer letters and often act on them. Personally I think CC are overpriced and I won't buy from them. Birthdays or CardStack are much cheaper.

Can you tell that I used to work for them (in the Head Office too!) lol.

flipflopper · 25/04/2007 16:28

I wouldnt expect to be able to get invitations with different ages on.

What does piss me off about clintons is that at christmas they fill half the store with xmas cards/crap and take out a lot of the other stock, so if you are looking for birthday cards you have the choice of one or two for each age.

And its overpriced

chocolattegirl · 25/04/2007 16:34

When I was there, there was a terrible schemozzle one day as the (then) Chairman and founder of the shops had gone down to the local shop to buy his wife a birthday card in December and didn't find any in the shop. Talk about the biter bit - it was his selling policy to flood the shops with Christmas stock from late November onwards and push out the 'everyday' (birthday) stock.

Ladymuck · 25/04/2007 16:52

Clinton Cards own the Birthdays stores, don't they?
