Does anyone have some recommendations for d's?

I swear by the Aldi pull ups in size 6+. Think they are £2.09 at the min and you get 20-25 in them. Never leak and gets him through the night

elliejjtiny · 05/01/2018 15:13

Place marking. The Huggies drynites keep leaking. I've been putting a sanitary towel inside them which helps a bit.

Rowgtfc72 · 05/01/2018 18:41

We bought tesco size 6 nappies and did them up before putting them on and used them as pull ups. They held more and you got a lot more for your money than you did with actual pull ups. Dd was in them till she was five and a half.

MrTrebus · 05/01/2018 18:43

I find the best nappies in general are aldi and asda so I'd start there on your quest for better pull ups.

LokiBear · 05/01/2018 18:45

Tesco easy ups in either 5 or 6. My dd finally came out of pull ups in the Summer, just before she turned 6. We have to get her up every night for a wee when we go to bed but she refused to wear pull ups any longer.

Belindarocks · 05/01/2018 18:45

Lidl worked well. My son was in size 6 until he was nearly 6 and they fitted fine. Cheap too!

milkyman · 05/01/2018 18:49

Thanks all - my d's is on size 7 night nappies but finds them uncomfortable. Hoping pull ups will be better.

Size 6 pull ups from Lidl are good, as are size 5 Tesco value pull ups (which are quite big).

I've just found Size 8 pull ups on amazon. My large 7 year old is getting on well with them.

icelollycraving · 05/01/2018 18:51

Lidl’s pull ups are the best I’ve used on ds.

Ellieboolou27 · 05/01/2018 18:52

Also a vote for Aldi 6+ pull ups, my 5 yo would only find these ones comfortable and she's very fussy, they are really cheap too.

Finally she's out of them now but they were the best.

AppleAndBlackberry · 05/01/2018 18:55

I used ASDA's largest 'First Pants' for as long as possible because they were cheaper than the ones intended for older children. I think until DD was about 6 and they started leaking. Now she's in ASDA Day and Night pants or Dry Nites age 4-7.

milkyman · 05/01/2018 19:13

What is the difference between night nappies and pull ups?

OP posts:
Ellieboolou27 · 05/01/2018 19:17

Not much but pull ups are geared towards older kids, made my dd feel less "babyish" in pull ups.
The Aldi Ines are the best, never leaked and she's quite a solid girl.

jpclarke · 05/01/2018 19:54

Why not try and get them out of pull ups altogether??

MrGrumpy01 · 05/01/2018 19:59

jpclarke a) we have no idea why the ops dc is in night nappies and b) it isn't that straight forwards.

Anyway we used Lidl, I found these bigger than Aldi, but the Asda ones were ok too. I eventually needed the larger dry nights though.

I did try cloth ones but they were bulky and he was less keen on these.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 05/01/2018 20:00

Glad to see this post. I feel my dd should be out of pull ups but it's so hard to get her dry and she is refusing point blank to try ATM.(I knew someone would be along with a helpful 'suggestion' before long though)

Back to the point though, and yes stick with 6+ as long as you can, as drynites are bloody expensive.

Sm16 · 05/01/2018 20:11

My son was on the size 7 nappies but these were leaking a lot-he is nearly 5. I have found that for his size I can only use the Drynites Pyjama Pants in age 4-7.
They are very expensive but often on offer and seem comfortable

Munxx · 05/01/2018 20:12

My DS is only just out of night time pull ups (at 5) and we used the Huggies Pyjama pants aged 4-7. They never leaked for us and the spiderman design was a huge hit. Ignore those that say he 'should' be out of them. It is a physiological process and although the cost irritated me (cheaper ones never fitted or worked as well) I was ready to go at his pace.

AOM3 · 05/01/2018 20:14

My youngest, DC3, stopped needing pull ups at night aged 7. I agree re Aldi and Lidl, also found Asda's quite good.

Scotinoz · 05/01/2018 20:23

We used the DriNites age 4-7 pull ups for my daughter, although she is a bit younger. I found them in Costco in bigger boxes than you get in the supermarket.

Rowgtfc72 · 06/01/2018 06:14

I always thought I had the only 5 yr old still in nappies. Asking round the playground I certainly wasn't!
She was daytime dry at 2. Just a very deep sleeper.
I think manufacturers are realising not all kids are dry at toddler age, certainly more products on the market when we used them six years ago.

humansnowman · 06/01/2018 07:00

Libero up and go size 7 pull ups here.

Buy them online from tena direct. Iirc a box of about 80 is £24

fishybits · 06/01/2018 07:25

Pampers pull ups 6+ from Amazon. They were 60 for £10 I think.

DD was dry by choice during the day at 18 months and not until she was 5 was she dry at night, she slept without moving for 14 hours most nights so just didn't wake up. Don't know what happened but one evening she declared she didn't need pull ups anymore and bar 2 accidents, she's been dry ever since.

NamedyChangedy · 06/01/2018 09:36

OP, the advantage of pull ups over nappies for us was that DS2 could get used to going to the toilet by himself, even when accidents were frequent. With a nappy he would have no way of taking it off, so couldn’t be in control of it. I see pull ups as being better preparation for independence, once they’re ready.

Hannahbrett89 · 22/10/2018 23:35

I know it’s a bit late to reply but we use Asda 6+ and pampers size 7 on my 5 year old daughter drynites and pull ups just confused her as they are like pants if your child can still fit in nappies I would use them
For night time as they know it’s just for
Nighttime
