AIBU, regarding delivery companies?

Cheeky feckers are always leaving before they give me a chance to answer!

I was upstairs feeding newborn DS just now. Knowing their rep for leaving without giving anyone a chance, I immediately put him down and let him cry wondering where I'd gone and answered the door. The cheeks had already left, with a note to say it's next door.

I feel so guilty because next door are constantly taking things in for us. Is there a way I can advise the delivery people not to, via contacting them or something? How put out would you feel if a neighbour was constantly getting things left because they weren't in couldn't answer the door?

I honestly don't piss about, I always get up to answer straight away but I'm always too late.

I spend a lot of time upstairs so perhaps that's why next door are really quick as they're pottering in the kitchen/lounge when the delivery knocks?

I can't even say it's one delivery company. Royal Mail, Yodel and the like are all the same but Royal Mail just take the piss. I've been in the kitchen and answered straight away before and as I opened the door, the man already had his back to me and was walking away Angry

I'm heavily pregnant and live in a townhouse. It takes me ages to waddle downstairs from the living room to answer the door. I ended up putting a notice to that effect on the front door because delivery people were leaving too quickly!

I have a sign up at my door asking delivery companies not to leave things with my neighbours. I would rather rearrange delivery for a convenient time or collect rather than put upon my neighbours.

Sometimes they don't even have the parcel anyway if they don't feel like delivering it, they just come armed with the postcard and put it through the door so that you have to go to the sorting office to collect it yourself.

This happened to my FIL who was expecting something so when the card hit the mat he was straight out of the door and collared the postman to say he was here could he have his parcel. The postman had to admit he didn't have it with him.

Drivers are often paid by the number of items delivered and have to meet strict targets on how much they deliver. 120+ deliveries per day, if they spend 30 seconds waiting at every drop then that is an hour longer they have to work each day - and many do 12+ hours anyway.

Argh, being heavily pregnant and rushing to the door isn't nice, let alone in a townhouse Bella

5foot5 the cheek of it, what's the point?!

Chelle that's understandable, but then again I still have an issue with the company is they're forcing workers to leave at a moments notice
