I genuinely don't know. Was a bit disappointed

OP posts:
peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 22:27

Uh-huh. And that is relevant how?

theymademejoin · 04/01/2018 22:27

@Duckyneedsaclean - I personally know someone who takes in women who have nowhere to go in crisis pregnancies, following referrals from SPUC.

So despite your earlier claims, SPUC don't actually provide practical help to pregnant women. They refer to other groups who provide help. They're website confirms this too.

Yes, they also campaign against abortion.

They're raison d'etre is to eliminate abortion from society. That's more than "oh yeah, they do a bit of campaigning too", which is what your statement suggests.

Don’t have a problem with pro-choice literature,so long as other literature available
I’d expect university students & staff to be critical thinkers, open to all critiques
Those recommending burning/disposing of the literature are illiberal and lack intellectual maturity.an inability to countenance an opposing view and dispose of materials is v sad

Think hard...whom else who history burnt books and disposed of opposition literature

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:28

ah Mum resorts to her goto defence of being deliberately obtuse - via the Nazi's

Ducky are not mildly embarrassed to be on her side at all Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/01/2018 22:34

I’d expect uni staff & students to be able to tolerate and critique a range of views
Whilst pro choice & spuc aren’t my ideological preference I can accept other POV
Also, the women on the uni need a range of information not a monotheme. As a range of preference and ideological beliefs will exist amongst the female student and staff

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:35

I'd like information to be truthful though

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 22:44

Thats fine when it is actual information. SPUC literature tells women that they will always feel guilty if they have an abortion. They say that abortions will make you infertile and give you cancer. They are vile propaganda, not information.

We're not arguing against a range of information. A leaflet explaining the actual facts on adoption, or help for single parents etc would be fine. SPUC shite is not that.

Mumof56 · 04/01/2018 22:44

I'd like information to be truthful though

In Demark in 2010, 156 babies were diagnosed with Down Syndrome in utero, every single one was aborted.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:45

they also offer 'pregnancy counselling' without disclosing their biased agenda

twofingerstoEverything · 04/01/2018 22:45

The Nazis burned literature too

LOL at 'literature'. You are a wag, Mum.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:46

and? so those women made a legal choice - not sure what your usually goady can't believe you haven't been banned yet point is?

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:46

oh and for reference Mum it's usual to link to your sources :)

Mumof56 · 04/01/2018 22:51

and? so those women made a legal choice

Ethnic cleansing is right because it's legal?
Hmm
Do you know who else thought that?

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 22:51

And? Are your random non-sequiturs meant to have any point at all?

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 22:52

Ethnic cleansing is right because it's legal?

Are you claiming a chromosomal abnormality is an ethnicity?

Are you drunk?

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:55

Mum it's legal in Denmark to abort on medical grounds - so that's a daft analogy

ethnic cleansing - happened to Muslims in the 90's in Europe

what is the ethnicity of people with down's syndrome?

(since you where obsessed with what race a Muslims the other night)

stop trying to derail the argument with silly comments - try and debate like a grown up

theymademejoin · 04/01/2018 22:55

@Mumof56 - Ethnic cleansing is defined as: the mass expulsion or killing of members of one ethnic or religious group in an area by those of another.

Terminating a pregnancy because you feel you can't cope with a child with special needs hardly fits in that definition.

Mookatron · 04/01/2018 22:58

Mumof56 what a ridiculous post. link to your source if you're going to post such fatuous nonsense. What exactly are you trying to say with that 'statistic' anyway?

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 22:58

oh and ethnic cleansing isn't legal as far as I am aware

Gwenhwyfar · 04/01/2018 22:59

You can post partisan things on university noticeboards and the university is not obliged to have a countering leaflet - how could it really?
The appropriate response would be to leave your own leaflet there as well.

This 100%. That's what's supposed to happen at university.

BertrandRussell · 04/01/2018 23:04

Godwin is alive and well.

Mumof56 · 04/01/2018 23:12

Are you claiming a chromosomal abnormality is an ethnicity?

Although aborting people with this syndrome is a way to protect genetic purity it is not itself an ethnicity.. negative eugenics may be more accurate.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2018 23:16

or legally obtainable abortion on medical grounds might be even more accurate ?

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 23:24

You said ethnnic cleansing. Are you withdrawing that offensive statement?
