New dropped kerb

We've had a new driveway and are due to have the kurb outside our house dropped next week. No one will be here when they arrive to do the work so I won't be able to ask them anything. Has anyone else had this done and if so, how long do I have to wait before I can drive over it to access my driveway?

Why don't you er.... I dunno.... maybe ring them up and ask them? Hmm

Justalittlelemondrizzle · 04/01/2018 09:38

I don't know what company the council are using and I can't get through to the council. It's a perfectly reasonable question to ask considering people get this done all the time 🤔

Anyone with helpful answers?

I had mine done while I was at work. Iirc they said not to drive on it for a couple of hours until the tarmac had set but it was done in the morning and I came home at 5.30 and it was fine to drive on. Hth Smile

How did you arrange this with council?
Email, letter, etc?

Justalittlelemondrizzle · 04/01/2018 09:44

Thanks naice 😁

I arranged it via an online form and payment system.

We had ours done, it took about 3 days before we could drive over it. If they do it the same way they'll take up the pavement and lay a new slope in concrete which has to set before they can put a new surface in it. If it's a tarmac surface that needs a few hours to cure, too.

Don't leave a car on the drive, we did and it was stuck there

Good advice ^

Thanks everyone. A man did come to measure and find out how wide we wanted it etc. I should have asked him then but this was back in November before we even had a quote off them.

Don’t drive on it the same day as it is finished. Next day is fine
