Boobs!! (lighthearted)

Masonmumny12 · 03/01/2018 18:31

Seriously over my boobs now!!!
I am a size 14 and my boobs are a whooping 36L........yes L cup Confused
Its like carrying a bloody 2 Yr old on my chest.
I have had the following said to me (and I want to fart in an air tight room and leave them in there so they can feel as uncomfortable as I am 24/7)

A) you are so lucky!
No Susan, I can't even run for a flipping bus without potentially knocking myself out.

B) oh that dress would look amazing on you (queue my nemesis, a strapless dress)

Well Sam, they have invented the plane, cured many diseases but god forbid they invent a bra that not only covers my nipples, but actually gives me support.

C) your DH is so lucky!

Yep he thought so too that was until I whipped it out and he looked at me and said "where the hell do I start? " Blush haha

D) why don't you lose some weight and the boobs will go down?

This one I agree with.... However when I was a size 8 my breast were a k cup.

Sometimes my DH would stand behind me and hold my boobs up and it's utter bliss.

Thank you for the rant, would feel a stone lighter but by boobs are weighing me down Hmm

Everyone is cursed blessed in different ways.. Aibu to want a break from mine?

I'm 32G, so on the smaller size of a lot of people on this thread. I shop at Bravissimo, and there's a good selection of bras and swimming costumes in my size.

It's the 'matronly' look you get in so many clothes that I hate. Anything with a high neck makes you look two dress sizes bigger than you actually are. I still thank Trinny and Susannah for telling me that big boobed women need v-neck tops - it changed my life!!

MrsMarigold · 04/01/2018 04:26

Do push to get them done, my Mom is now older, late 70s, and the combination of huge boobs, carrying a heavy handbag and osteoporosis have left her in agony in need of a shoulder replacement, she has chronic pain from the blasted things too. She is tiny only 5ft and as light as a feather, but really battles with clothes. It's heartbreaking, her GP now is a woman and said she was definitely an eligible candidate to have them done, is your GP female, I think they can really help push things through. Flowers

Luckily mine are only a 32E which is manageable, although my six year old DS has recently discovered them and is fascinated by them, when I cuddle him he's keen to jiggle them, grope them, tweak my nipples (through my clothes) and I overheard him telling a friend and his Dad Blush: "I love mummy's boobs, they are squishy and soft and wonderful!" I think it's innocent but it's a bit much, I don't want him to grow up into a boob groper, he also ran though the mums in his class and commented on their boobs once, I nearly died of shame.

Myanna · 04/01/2018 05:04

I hear you. I'm a 32HH usually but now I have a one month baby and they are ridiculous. Hoping the size settles down over the next few weeks as even the huge nursing bras I have are too small.

I'm planning on a reduction once I'm done with breastfeeding and have lost the baby weight. I've wanted one since I was 15 - I can afford it, just need to be brave enough.

I'd be pretty happy with an F cup I think. Big but manageable.

BattleCuntGalactica · 04/01/2018 05:09

Jesusfuck. I'm a 38G down from a 42H, and they're still too bloody heavy for me. How the fuck do you manage!?

RemainOptimistic · 04/01/2018 06:49

32g here so on the smaller side. They were annoyingly variable in size usually around 30e, but breastfeeding has made them huge sacks hanging off me. So uncomfortable and horribly saggy. If they stay this size I'm going to cry. Of all the changes pregnancy has done to my body and I've had to accept, the boob increase I am praying will be reversed. If they would get smaller than before I would be over the moon.

I was in marksies the other day braving the bras as I'm desperate now, been wearing nursing crop tops with fuck all support (a more supportive bra gave me mastitis) and just wanted something pretty, supportive and feminine. Even if I just wore it for an hour at the weekend. Needless to say I tried on over 12 different bras and came out with nothing.

There was a woman I saw there who went in with 2 34c bras to try on and bought them both. (Yes I'm nosy!)

I can't imagine what that must feel like! To just go and buy a bra like that. In any style from any shop.

Please God let my boobs get smaller after bf stops!

BlueFleece · 04/01/2018 07:14

34Ks here and I'm used to them, but they ruin the look of everything.
I secretly hoped they'd magically shrink with breastfeeding, but at least they didn't actually get bigger. Got really irritated seeing tiny-boobed, one-handed breastfeeders just popping one out.

My OH keeps saying I just need to exercise - which is not wrong, but only now do I realise that when I thought I was a fat teenager with big boobs I was only really an average teenager with massive boobs.

Iamclearlyamug · 04/01/2018 07:17

bluefleece I promise it isn't necessarily exercise. my boobs were 34h at 13.7 stone, and 34gg at 10.9 stone so for me it made a negligible difference - they're massive no matter what i do 🙈🙈

RJnomore1 · 04/01/2018 07:28

Good lord. I'm 36DD and I think they're too big. Spoil the way clothes sit, make me look and feel frumpy. I was a B cup until I had my first child and I miss that.

They annoy me but they don't hurt and I can strap them down to exercise (although I can't breathe properly when I do!) so you lot all have massive sympathy from me.

BlueFleece · 04/01/2018 07:30

Iamclearlyamug Interesting, thanks - although I am overweight so exercise wouldn't be a bad thing!

kissingfrog123 · 04/01/2018 07:31

I’ve recently had a reduction from 34G to 34C/D. Struggled with all the things you said and also a lot of ‘they are not that bad’ comments. But after 30 years of hauling them about and the fear of everything just getting progressively worse (back and shoulder pain, migraines from strain, plus vanity and frustrating bra shopping) I bit the bullet and had a reduction. My GP referred me without a murmur but in the end I decided to go with a surgeon I wanted when I wanted to have it done and paid for it. It is painful but the healing process is quick and the positive effects are immediate. I don’t know how your GP expects you to prove how uncomfortable you are, that seems incredibly insensitive, but do push for it if it’s what you want. Good luck!

ChristmasCakes · 04/01/2018 07:31

Mine are enormous too and I really hate people saying 'why don't you get a reduction?' I would never casually just ask why don't they get surgery to change their body, it's so offensive and rude!

ChristmasCakes · 04/01/2018 07:33

@dingit try brastop.com I got beautiful swimsuits from them last time I went on holiday

kissingfrog123 · 04/01/2018 07:35

Sorry @ChristmasCakes x post - bad timing!! Surgery isn’t for everyone and I agree isn’t the answer to everything.

Joskar · 04/01/2018 07:50

@RemainOptimistic have you had a look at a Molke bra? They're not like an ordinary bra . They are made of thick jersey but really supportive and not such a risk of mastitis. I was going crazy before I got one because I couldn't get a nursing bra to fit. Molke hand make the bras and the sizing is not done by cup sizes so it's easier to get something to fit. About £30 so not cheap but genuinely has changed my life.

I reckon I'll wear it once I'm done feeding because it's so much more comfortable than an ordinary bra.

Masonmumny12 · 04/01/2018 09:04

Honestly had no idea so many of us are DD+ you would think they would cater more for us......by the time I filter the 'bra size' and 'cup size' ona website I have only 3 bra's to choose from Hmm
I read the other day that wearing a bra is not good for us and encourages sexism Confused can you imagine not wearing a bra!!! Honestly hahaha

32H here and have been since I was a teenager. I lost 4 stone to get back to 10 4 and they didn’t change one iota. Just looked bigger and saggier. I can just about cope with the size as the back pain is mostly mild however it’s the saggy ness that bothers me. They are so floppy and flat and are almost on my stomach. When I lie flat they migrate under my armpits and I have a completely flat ribcage. Both my mum and gran were the same and my mum had a terrible time during menopause and again when on chemo with fungal infections under them. I can’t bear the thought of that. Not a hope of getting NHS so my private reduction and lift is booked for next month. I’ve waited 9 months to get this surgeon

Namechangedtoscream · 04/01/2018 12:44

I hear you. I'm a 34H and 5 weeks pregnant. My boobs are already straining in my bra so who knows what size I'll stop at.

I'm going to push for a reduction as my back neck and shoulders are so so sore even with correctly fitted bras

LoveMySituation · 04/01/2018 18:38

I'm only a d cup and I hate having them attached to me full stop. You all have my sympathy. Whoever invented them didn't think it through, or factor in living with them

Drycleanonly7 · 05/01/2018 07:51

Hello Mason. I too feel your pain. Am 34 L. Dieting only made them go down half a cup size. Impacts on every aspect of my life. Hurts, size L bras are never supportive enough and I never feel beautiful because of looking so out of proportion. I find it annoying when women on forums moan about their 'big boobs' and then they go on to say they have cup size F or G.

LittleLionMansMummy · 05/01/2018 08:38

I think you can get a reduction on the nhs if you're able to cite physical and/or psychological impact.

I'm only an E cup, but the only way I'd be able to get a reduction would be to pay privately. My biggest frustration is that the nicest dresses and tops are designed for flat chested women.

woodhill · 05/01/2018 09:42

I was 30E cup but seem to be heading to a F, ff cup. I have slim shoulders and my boobs don't look huge when naked.

However when I put clothes on I feel self conscious as things don't flatter. I am a size 10

Usually go for scoop necks and sometimes buy from pepperbury curvy

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 05/01/2018 21:49

How much do reductions cost? (and how much is a piece of string?)

Cleanermaidcook · 05/01/2018 22:41

Oh op I feel your pain. Sometimes when dh comes home I tell him to put his hands out and sort of flollop them on him to hold attractive I know but oh the bliss, the weight and pain goes for a few seconds till he lets go moaning they're all hot and sweaty - and they then plummet south along with my happiness.

BrickInTheWall · 05/01/2018 22:42

So nice to have people who can relate! Several of my friends think I'm lucky to have massive boobs.. They are a 32H now down from 34HH after losing a stone! I've still got 2 stone to lose but they are already so saggy.
I would love a reduction to a D and a boob tuck.. is there such a thing?? Do they do that as standard when they do reductions? Wouldn't want them to be even saggier!

Poshjock · 05/01/2018 23:34

A reduction and lift is the procedure for southern boobs. Basically the surgeon cuts an anchor shape, removing the nipple from the surrounding skin cuts down and around the crease, removes excess breast tissue and skin and stitches closed, reattaching the nipple in a more pert position. The scar tissue under also helps provide support. Do visit RealSelf website for more info. It’s where I did quite a bit of research. Cost is around £5-6 K
