To take Mirena Coil out

I've had these coils for over seven years but this last month extremely heavy bleeding TMI but went to an event, all glammed up to find blood all over back of dress. I've felt weak, dizzy horrible pains in ovary area plus this constant heavy bleeding. This coil has been in place for two years ( previous one five) and this is the first time I've ever had any issue. Should I just take the damn thing out myself? I'm worried it's become dislodged anyway

Get an appt at family planning clinic urgently!

Do NOT attempt to take it out yourself, this could cause serious trauma/bleeding/infection. Definitely get an appointment at family planning pronto.

Monoblock67 · 02/01/2018 17:49

Or if it reaches a truly unbearable point then get yourself to A+E

No don't try to take it out yourself. Get yourself to a doctors ASAP I had one rupture my uterus and end up in my adamine. It's a rare complication but heavy bleeding and pain aren't a good sign.

Posted too soon. I'll have to see if I can see someone tomorrow as I'm starting to feel feverish

No you need to be seen NOW

JustVent · 02/01/2018 17:56

Feverish = infection.

Unless you want sepsis you need to be seen now.

Jenala · 02/01/2018 18:02

You need to see someone. I had a copper coil removed when I was abroad, similar symptoms to you. No one spoke english so I used google translate to write out my symptoms with "please get it out!!!!" at the bottom and went to the nearest hospital showing it to every member of staff until a doctor removed it. Felt better straight away, they also gave me antibiotics.

I wouldn't wait, personally. Sepsis can be quicker than you might think.
