We've had a full on day of new year's day activities. DS 6 and 2 are still bouncing off the walls. DS aged 2 has not napped all day. I'm a puddle of exhaustion in the corner. And they are being really loud and boistrious. I'm ready for the day to end. They are not. Ideas please, for surviving those, last 2-3 clock-watching hrs... They normally crash out at 8.30pm

Film! Or TV. Sounds like they’ve been very busy and will chill out with a nice family film.

my oldest will chill nicely in front of a film, but the youngest is not interested in screens in the slightest!

playgough?
long bath?

Rainatnight · 01/01/2018 17:15

God, our 18 month old is bouncing off the walls, despite a great, puddly time at the beach today. We're going out for tea. She loves that.

teaandakitkat · 01/01/2018 17:15

A long bath. That can fill an hour in our house. Then an early bed.

Chienrouge · 01/01/2018 17:16

A long bath.

Bath , pjs, teeth story and bed at 6.30, crashing out at 8.30 is very late for little ones.

Ours of similar ages love a crazy dancing disco. We've also discovered cosmic kids yoga routines on YouTube which amazingly the kids follow and love! Or build a den from sofa cushions? This is the hardest bit I think and the temptation to try and ignore them is overwhelming- but I find it's usually less stressful and energy sapping to just play with them. At least for a few minutes at a time! Do they like baths?

HettySunshine · 01/01/2018 17:20

Don't do what we have just done and take them for a drive. All three fell asleep in the car. I fear we have put bedtime back by about 2 hours ConfusedGin

WheresTheEvidence · 01/01/2018 17:21

If he hasn't napped today is be putting the little one to bed for 7pm. So early tea. Then a bath and the tv on upstairs for stories at 6.45

tinkertailorsoildersailor · 01/01/2018 17:24

yeas pps are right, he's not going to last more than an hr (the little one) so I'm going to put him to bed at 6 and deal with the fall-out of an early start tomorrow!

Misty9, great ideas, but I can't actually interact with them any more today. They are doing my head in, big time.
