Posting for traffic. Just to note, I am a (normally) pacifist and gentle parent. However... my 6 year old ds has acted like a total and utter shit today. It's taken every inch of my will power not to yell at him / whack him. He's just refused my offer to have a NYE disco upstairs with him, in favour of 'daddy' who is deserting us in an hour to go out on a little nye jaunt of his own (i'm the default babysitter so can't go out). This was going to be our special time, a little party of our own, but he has cried and whined he wants daddy, so I've given up and am sipping g&t in front of the telly, wiping my tears. Excuse my langauage but he's been a challenging bastard today and I don't actually like him at the moment.

Yes TooFew that's right - sucked it up all day, and then released my frustrations on mumsnet and a g and t (and possibly more avocado toast than I needed). DS now in bed and totally unscathed...

Well apologies if I've upset someone for the use of word 'troll' but I could not take anything other than that type of behaviour from the abhorrent post!

DS has been a little angle since Christmas. Not a stealth boost as I am waiting for the turn into the devil child he was a few days before Christmas. I feel like he is playing me into a false sense of security (how bad is that)
Ignore the poster judging you we have all (well most of us not perfect human beings anyway) walked up or down the stars saying "little bastard" or "little shit" under our breath. As long as the child does not hear it no harm done and you have let off some steam
