To regift duplicate presents?

So my DS1 received 4 of one toy and 2 of another 3 toys for Christmas.
Is it okay to regift toys? Some we will be taking to the charity shop but we really don't have much money and it seems (on paper) like such a good idea.... first child so I don't know all the gifting etiquette yet.

Not that keen on regifting here. Prob because I and two DDs are all Jan birthdays. I suppose if you can say that if you walked into a shop and genuinely would have picked an identical present for the recipient then it’s fine. In my experience a regifted present is usually not quite right eg wrong age or not something you know they like. So last year one of my DDs got a make your own bag that was three years over her age. The giver has a sister who is three years old than my DD. DD didn’t notice so I just put it away and will give it to her when she’s old enough to do it.

First child yes, and second Christmas. We do have a friend who has a DS who is a few months younger and one who is a few months older. So regifting to her seems so natural (gifts were from family).
I like the idea of mentioning that DS has one of these and loves it so I thought yours might too

I think buying duplicates off Children is a great idea for when they're older!
