I was meant to be working but off now. I think I'll probably be asleep.
Anyone else treats it as just another night?

We're just having a slightly posher Sunday roast and a bit more to drink than usual, but not getting legless, I'm normally asleep by 11

Happy new year all. Still awake, goodness knows why!

Only thing we’ve done differently is that ds (11) has stayed up until midnight so as we could go outside together and watch all the fireworks going off. Was lovely actually as quite a few of my neighbours and their kids were also out, so we all stood together, wine in hand, and ooh’ed and aah’ed at the fireworks going off. Apart from one neighbour who made a point of putting the lights on and glaring out of the window at half the street stood outside on NYE. He was hardly asleep when it sounded like the blitz outside!

We usually have a few people round, or have dinner with friends, but we've had 12 people here for 4 days over Christmas, and I'm still getting over a horrible cold, so we said sod it, and stayed in by ourselves. We've had a lovely evening, watching TV, eating prosecco and scoffing chocolate. Couldn't be better. Happy New Year!

Eating prosecco?? Drinking, I mean. I'm not that pissed.....Confused

I didn't do anything, dont bother anymore, quite happy to stay in and watch Graham Norton, but as I was watching I realised I did the exact same thing last year as I remembered who the guests were and I felt a bit sorry for myself for a minuteConfused.
Also it made me realise that the year has gone by so so fast and so much has happened in my life (divorce, family losses and births, life changing holiday) but yet again I could've gone back to last year and I would've been sat in the same spot with the same cat in my lap watching the same show.

Nope. I went to eight Christmas parties in the run up to Christmas. And while I do love Christmas, come NYE I just want to have a bath and an early night.

It's not for me either OP. I have 10 adults and 3 dcs coming for lunch today. So have a turkey crown and a leg of pork in the oven already and a massive pile of veg and potatoes to do.

I haven't gone out out on NYE for 8 years. And I really don't miss it. Ds is 4 so maybe when he is older we might go to family parties or neighbours houses but for now we are happy to be home.

I had a couple of g and ts. Dp had a hangover still so had a glass of milk. Party on!

God no - not odd at all. DH and I had a drinks (him champagne and me Baileys) some snacks and three episodes of Peaky Blinders. DDs (4 and 6) were asleep upstairs and I went to bed at 10.30. I can't remember the last time I stayed up to see the new year in.
