Am I alone in hating New Year’s Eve?

I hate the feeling that I have to be doing something really exciting otherwise I am a pathetic loser. Everyone else always seems to be having a fantastic time while I am counting the seconds until I can go to bed. Anyone else have the same problem?

Not keen. It makes me feel a bit nervous as to what is in store for the forthcoming year. I think it’s a sign of getting old as never had these thoughts when I was young.

I always find it a bit of a letdown to go out - overcrowded, overpriced and a nightmare to get home.

Tonight we're going to a few people's houses on some kind of 'safari supper' thing. We're the first house doing canapés and drinks so I'm wondering whether I can just stay behind to 'tidy up' and then not go to any of the rest!!! I did xmas day for 20, same people as we're seeing tonight, and the thought of sitting at home is more appealing at the moment.......

Most people I know dislike it. It seems to be a fallacy that people actually like It!

Obviously you're not alone in hating NYE cos this is about the 10th thread on it 😰

We are having a nice chilled night with our friends and kids and am I allowed to say that I am actually LOOKING FORWARD to it.

I like NYE. We have a DD now so will be staying in, but if I could, I'd love to be going to a black tie do and enjoying some champers and cocktails.

I only loved it once. Bavk of a car with my man and some canned pina coladas from m&s. Happiest 😁
Since then no, i endure it. Its just another spin of the earth to me.

I don't like it, and always have a feeling of impending doom about what the following year will bring. I feel really unsettled today.

I don't hat NYE but I've never seen the appeal in going out for it, having to fight to get to the bar and drunks behaving like idiots. Then there the insane cost of tickets to get into all the clubs and pubs round here, even the local pub well away from the city centre charges £25 for a ticket.

I'd rather stay home with dh and the kids, have a couple of drinks and watch the fireworks on TV.

There does seem to be a prevailing attitude with a lot of people that you either have to be out drinking or at a party on NYE or you're boring.
