I've just discovered I have a prolapse!

I'm worried because I've just had a shower and whilst washing my myself with my hand, I felt something protruding. I've never felt this before, although after an examination some years back, they did tell me that I have a partial prolapse
I've a big day out with the family in London tomorrow and am nervous that it will worsen and I'll have difficulties walking around.

Does anyone have any idea whether it will stay as it is or whether it can get worse quickly
also, I'm really hoping that I don't have to have an operation to put this right but I can see from the little bit of research that I've done that it's likely.
I'd be grateful for any advice. Thank you.

I’m finding the kegal 8 fantastic! I’ve stoooed having wet knickers everyday like I have past few months! Within. Couple of days it stopped! I’m alternating between the moderate prolapse setting and the setting for stress continence! Do one on a morning and one on an evening! I’ve noticed a difference in a week. It’s a weird difference I’ve noticed- sounds wierd but I feel fitter, stronger and younger down there in a hard to describe manor! I can now pull in and hold my pelvic floor myself which I couldn’t myself before! But tbh just the fact I’ve stopped leaking urine is a massive achievement! I would highly recommend this kegal 8 ultra for anyone win incontinence or prolapse issues! They are expensive but so worth it! I can’t wait to see the results in 12 weeks time! X

Just don't do what the lady did on Call the Midwife and stick a potato up there! Apparently people used to do that....! Interested in this Kegel8....

Jassmells · 04/01/2018 21:51

@Debdoo did you decide to buy that yourself or ask GP? Interested as sounds similar to my issue. Sorry to hijack thread! Oh and OP be careful with your walking I had a cyst down there and made it much worse x

My hubby got me it for xmas lol! I’ve been looking at them for a while! Have a look on their website theyve fantastic reviews and I for one am extremely happy! It does all sorts of incontinence, can buy all sorts of internal bits for different issues, the one it comes with is the best and newest design apparently and has a loads of settings and goes into details for what type of problem! Even setting for sensitivity during sex and restoring Feeling down there if lost after childbirth etc! I’m absolutely thrilled with it! Comes with internal probe and pads for outside, as some settings you can use either for same effect! Check out the website and reviews-I love mine and can even use it whilst making tea! Just attach it to my belt hook under my top and ya can’t even tell I’m doing it! I saw the reviews and I had high expectations after reading them and I wasn’t disapointed thankfully! The fact I don’t have to wear a Tena now after only a couple of days is unbelievable! I had prolapse surgery in November for the bowel and still have a bladder prolapse which wasn’t bad enough to operate on and hopefully with my little mate kegal it never will! X

@Debdoo thanks I had been considering a private women's Physio I know but at £60 a session I may look at this instead.

nutbrownhare15 · 04/01/2018 22:28

I saw the wholewoman website recommended on here, it claims to help you manage without surgery, worth a look. I bought a video and the advice did help. Still went to a woman's health physio though which I'd also recommend.

Why a potatoe? What would that do? Lol can imagine my hubbys face when I pulled that out before nookie! Pmslol
No I didn’t speak to my gp about it, saw it in a thread in another site about incontinence and someone was on about how great it was so went on the website and did research on it and the reviews etc and my hubby said he’d get me one after my surgery! Was a shock opening it xmas morning with the in laws there though! Good job I aren’t shy or embarrass easy! Lol I was like a kid with a new ps4, couldn’t wait for em to go so I could try it out! 😂 hardest thing for me was the fact I couldn’t pull up my pelvic floor and hold it for more than a second, so as much as I was trying to do em, I wasn’t getting anywhere! I had serious lack of sensation down there! I told my surgeon I was getting one and he didn’t say hardly anything, just ok! That was it! But if he’d of been concerned he would of said don’t and told me why! They are medically approved and according to website can be prescribed on prescription! X

I’ve attached pic above if the bit on website that says available on prescription! So might be an option if cost of device is a problem atm, being right after Xmas when everyone’s skint! X

www.wholewoman.com/forum/

Lots of advice on there. There is a DVD called "First Aid for Prolapse" and it has helped me no end over the years.

The DVD is quite expensive and an import so if you want to borrow mine please PM me. It shows an exercise routine and gives advice on everyday posture. I know it works because if I miss the exercises one day I feel it for the rest of the week.

The top 2 videos are quite informative in terms of how prolapse happens and where it all went wrong in the medical community.
