To stop my sister's dog begging for food

I stayed at my sister's house from boxing day until this morning watching her dog. I was happy to do this favour as DH was working anyway.

Dsis's dog constantly begs for food. If you go into the kitchen (open plan with living room) he comes after you and whines. He jumps up when you eat at the table and even if you are just having a cup of tea.

So by the end of day 1 this was driving me nuts so I decided to walk him to his bed basket, got him to sit down and gave him a treat to eat when I had my next meal. I did this every time I was eating and by yesterday afternoon he was doing it automatically without needing a treat if I walked him to his basket or sat at the table.

I mentioned the begging to Dsis who just laughed and said it was cuteConfused.

She has just called to moan that they have just eaten lunch without dog whining for food or jumping up at them at the table. Apparently I have taken his (the dogs) pleasure out of their mealtimes.

Wibu to stop someone else's dog from begging for food?

Can you pop round and sort mine out?

You should rent yourself out op!! But I would assume ddog will be back to his scavenging ways before too long with dsis encouragement. She will regret it when dc come along!

The dog is clearly smarter than your sister.

You could make a good living as a dog trainer though.

top dog training!

this would drive me nuts and I don't know any dog owners that accept this. It will all be fine until it knocks a hot drink on itself or bites one of the kids in a misunderstanding.
