To let DP stew in his already-worn underwear?

Lighthearted sort of

Got stuck in loads of traffic coming home from Christmas at the in laws yesterday, so rather than stopping off at home we went straight to my parents, where we're staying until new year. Plan was to leave baby with parents this morning and go home to collect clothes and do some washing - couple of hours round trip.

Tried to wake DP up 3 times but he's ignoring me and keeps going back to sleep. I've already been up half the morning with the baby and he's done fuck all, now I'm sat waiting to go getting increasingly fidgety.

AIBU to go home and leave him here with his suitcase full of dirty clothes and tell him he can sort himself out? and stop off at Hobbycraft along the way to buy a lot of pretty craft supplies using the joint account

Grr. Might bring him one pair of pants.

You're just wasting time hanging around waiting for him. Just go and do what you have to do for yourself and baby. He can sort himself out. Is he usually such a knob?

WhyFy · 29/12/2017 10:52

Do it. Not even joking. He can go fetch his own clothes later. If you do this for him now, you'll be doing it for the rest of your relationship. It's likely you've already done something like this before for him which is why he's so confident that he'll get lovely clean clothes later as a reward for ignoring you.

SisterMortificado · 29/12/2017 10:59

Go. Fuck it. He's an adult, I assume he's got two functioning arms and legs. You've let him know.
Don't let him use you as a doormat.

RedPandaMama · 29/12/2017 11:01

He's usually pretty good to be fair he's just rubbish at getting up and is v lazy and has to be told to do things. I'm just mad because I got a shit nights sleep yet He's sleeping in saying he's 'so tired' grrr.

In a seriousness he's a good egg and is generally kind and wonderful.

Shout really loudly in his ear "I'm going now".
And go.

Nacknick · 29/12/2017 11:04

Why don't you just stick some washing in your parents' washing machine?

VeraVinegarTits · 29/12/2017 11:05

I'd just do some washing at my mum's.

BewareOfDragons · 29/12/2017 11:06

So you get to give up your sleep AND do everything for everyone.

Fuck that.

I wouldn't bring him back a single thing.

Namechangetempissue · 29/12/2017 11:06

A big shout of BYE, SEE YOU AT HOME and slam the door -bet he is out of bed like a rocket. Or seriously just go (and stop at hobbycraft).

Cantuccit · 29/12/2017 11:07

So is very lazy ir wonderful? Confused

What doe he do that's wonderful?

Cantuccit · 29/12/2017 11:07

*or not ir

ChristmasAtSquiffanys · 29/12/2017 11:08

I would go now on your own.
Send him a text saying, If you want anything from home, text me otherwise I will assume you don't need anything.
Get your own stuff and for baby. Do your washing but don't do any of his.

If he bothers to text, pick up ONLY what he specifies.
"pants" = one pair Grin
If he wants 3 pairs he needs to say. Don't think on his behalf, but to refuse to collect anything will make you the bad guy.

When you get back to parents (via Hobbycraft) , give baby to him and go and have a 2 hour bath.

bigbluebus · 29/12/2017 11:09

Would it not make more sense to put the clothes you have with you into your parent's washing machine and pop to the shops and buy a couple of pairs of cheap pants each and a baby grow to see you through until the washing is dry (although whenever I went away with babies/small children I always took way more clothes than we needed just in case).

Theresnonamesleft · 29/12/2017 11:17

Local launderette or parents machine. Less faff than a couple of hours round trip.
If you’ve been up for hours you could have had yours and the babies stuff washed and dried by now.
