Yesterday afternoon NDN asked if their son's GF could park outside our house, we don't park directly outside so DP said that would be fine. So later on I was sat in the living room and heard a massive bang outside, looked out the window and saw that the GF had crashed into our front garden wall. NDN had said earlier she has just passed her test so she's obviously not a very confident driver. GF and NDN son were stood outside a while trying to reverse and park the car properly then just went in their house! They saw me in the living room so they know I saw them hit the wall. The wall isn't knocked down but it's really scratched. AIBU or are they CF for not coming and apologising?

Damage to another person's property, no matter how minor, is still reportable under the Road Traffic Act. Regardless of whether you agree or not Pookie it doesn't change the law Hmm

The OP says she heard a massive bang so for her to have heard it suggests that it wasn't all that minor, even if all she can see on the surface are some scratches.

My mum bumped into her neighbour's wall years ago, a very minor bump, but the wall was very old and there was a slight crack in it as a result. The surveyors deemed it unsafe and the entire wall (quite a tall one) had to be pulled down and rebuilt. The crack wasn't all that noticeable to the casual observer but had it not been spotted and been repaired, a strong wind could easily have caused it to topple over onto someone at a later date.
