To just say thank you to the fab PILs around

I'm pregnant and very slow so I've been basting myself in the bath for the last hour mumsnetting for Christmas cheer.

I'm so depressed at the awful depictions of PILs out there so I'm just going to say a big 'thank you' to mine.

They are kind ALL the time, don't play favourites, adore my DS, are endlessly supportive, make no demands on us and welcome us each Christmas with no expectations.

I love them masses and am so glad to be part of their family.

I hope that those of you suffering through all the passive aggressive shit being thrown at you are able to have a lovely Christmas in spite of them and I hope that they sort their shit out in the coming year.

I'm so glad that there are so many of us will lovely in-laws, whether they're siblings in law, children in law or parents in law.

I should add my BIL and his GF are absolutely wonderful too.

My MIL died 2 weeks ago, I was devastated, she was amazing. I am so sorry DD won't have her in her life. FIL is lovely too.

Mine are also firmly in the lovely camp. I've been with DH since I was a teenager and have known them almost half my life now. They irritate me in ways only real family can and I love them very much. FIL was diagnosed with cancer this year which while not rapidly progressive is very much terminal so christmas is tinged with sadness this year. I really hope we get at least one more with both of them.

Mine are lovely and so amazingly helpful considering they live over 300 miles away. We’re at theirs this week and my DC are loving every minute.
