I know we havent got through Christmas day yet but I am trying to book something for partner and I to go to on NYE
Our local restaurant that we go to on a Friday night has a Michael Buble tribute act and a buffet but want £100 pp which is sticking in my throat

When we go on a Friday night our drinks and food are about £75 total for starters and mains

I have called around other local pubs etc this afternoon which vary from a tenner to £50 with one other Hotel at £110 for a 6 course plus DJ and dancing

I would rather stay in with a decent bottle or two and be done with it but OH would love to go out and dance

AIBU to baulk at the cost I cant help feel it is overpriced as based on the Buble tickets I can get for the real thing are £109 each

Dont want to be a party pooper but .....

I find it hilarious how so many places got really fucking greedy on nye and wonder why noone bothers going out on nye any more

Stay in and dance!!

I remember when I wanted to go out and dance so I can sympathise with both of you. Hope you find a suitable compromise!

Sod that, mega expensive to see the new year in - when IMO nothing changes.

We tend to go out earlier in the day have a few drinks then home for a takeaway and fizzy stuff.

If we went it would be £200 plus £20 cab plus £ 50-80 on drinks

I suggested that we could buy £100 of drink by which point I would probably think I was Michael Buble anyway
