“I can” he said.

I’m fucking furious and half you are probably going to flame me for this.

Im youngish, early 20s and I go out a lot. So Christmas season and all that, I was out last night. (Liverpool so very busy, roudy night scene).

I was in the toilets a few times in the night and one man kept coming into the women’s. now, i know drink factors into it and all so I didn’t think much of it than ‘he’s drunk and confused’. But no. One girl at one point challenged him and said you can’t be in here. And you know what? He said “I can, I have every right to be if i say I need to use these toilets”.

Im livid. This is the first time ive seen this happen first hand. One girl next to me said ‘I don’t care as long as he’s not bothering me’. Well I care because what if he was. He’s already declared himself able to come in said toilets into a cubicle.

AIBU this should not be happening?!

when did he say he was trans??

how does this work when i go to the gents because the queue for the ladies is out the door and there is no queue for the gents?

Batteriesallgone · 24/12/2017 18:24

My sister went out to a club with unisex toilets with sofas in

I can’t imagine anything worse Envy (not envy)

Either they’d be used for sex or for creepy men to perv from. In no actual real world would this result in unisex gossipy chats a la sex and the city

The only places I’ve been to with unisex toilets they’ve been very utilitarian. Lots of loos all together, minimal facilities. Not for hanging around in. Presumably to discourage shagging and perving / make it obvious when shagging and perving is occurring.

Unisex loos are never going to be a nice space like posh ladies loos can be.

tehmina23 · 24/12/2017 18:25

The creepy can sit wherever just not in the loos watching women.

tehmina23 · 24/12/2017 18:26

*men

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 24/12/2017 18:30

It depends on the context. Unless it's a glamorous rock club and the men's don't have mirrors (this used to be true of the St Moritz in London Xmas Hmm), then you're right.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 24/12/2017 18:33

*glam ffs

ClaryFray · 24/12/2017 18:35

Because it's very unlikely that trans people are gonna sexually assault someone but people keep quite about the predatory men that will use this as an excuse to get into a private female space, and assault someone where no cctv is present.

But we can't talk about that because being that up makes someone transphobic don't you know!

mustbemad17 · 24/12/2017 18:37

When i was at Uni in Liverpool (8+ years ago) it was pretty common for girls to use blokes loos if the queues were huge. When the blokes sometimes used ours it didn't even occur to me to question it tbh!

Unicorn81 · 24/12/2017 18:51

The only reasonable thing i can think of is a medical issue that requires privacy in a cubicle, like having a stoma or something. I assume though the mens would have at least 1 cubicle? Alternatively he was snorting coke and the ladies loo is cleaner 😂😂

tehmina23 · 24/12/2017 18:55

In my er, younger days, the only reason a man would be in the ladies was to have sex in a cubicle (grim) or to pester the women in there. If security were around they'd get thrown out.

I used to go to some grim places!

NutellaButtys · 24/12/2017 19:08

@mustbemad17 that would never get by the bouncers now. I’ve seen girls pushed out lads toilets by bouncers near every weekend.

Almost ruins the night! Spent many a night nattering away to the blokes in one or t'other loos!!! Good memories

mustbemad17 · 24/12/2017 19:39

The bouncers never used to bat an eyelid
