To be worried about next door neighbours dogs?

So basically our next door neighbours have three dogs (ranging from small to huge) we haven't seen our neighbours in a couple of days and have definitely not seen them all yesterday or today.

The dogs have been howling in the house since 8am yesterday morning and now I'm starting to get concerned about them.
I want to do something but don't wanna find out that maybe the neighbours came home at like midnight and fed watered and walked them and then cause a permanent rift between us (we are both in our forever homes so it would be a long time).

What would you do?

We do not have a number for the neighbours and we have checked with two of our other neighbours and they don't have a number for them/haven't seen them for days either.

I am worried that the dogs are in there with nothing to drink or eat.

knock on the door, see if they're in? If they answer you can explain you were worried about the barking (and/or complain about the noise). If they don't, call the RSPCA and ask them to make a welfare visit.

Maybe they have arranged for someone to come round and see to the dogs? Have you noticed anyone? You could pop round on the pretext of delivering a card?

Thank you for the advise I'm going to knock on again now. If they aren't in I'll post a card through so I'll be able to see if yesterday's post has been moved and that'll give me an idea of anyone is coming round or not. X

Are they definitely not in? As something similar happened locally and the family had died from carbon monoxide poisoning. They were only found after a few days due to the two family dogs barking constantly.

Can you peek through windows?

Update - we double checked and had a look through the back windows and then knocked on and no-one was in. So we had a chat with some other neighbours who informed us that they had planned to leave the dogs for that length of time. Two of the dogs had been picked up on the morning of the 23rd and the other was left until 7pm last night (they had told this other neighbours they had no plans on having anyone check in).
