AIBU to shop for Christmas dinner tomorrow (Christmas eve)

Does anyone else do this? I've nipped in to supermarkets last minute on Christmas Eve each year & never see empty shelves. AIBU to leave shopping until tomorrow?

You'll be fine if you have a big supermarket. If you weren't having six people over I'd advise you to wait until nearer closing time to see if they reduce stuff. I am addicted to yellow sticker food. At this time of year it's just this side of a gambling problem as I play chicken with the shop Grin.

I see all these reduced free range bronze turkeys or huge ribs of beef and weep because there are only two of us and they are far too big. But I always get something manageable like a special loin of pork, a duck or a chicken - I love roast chicken.

I'n the end I went tonight to Tesco. It was totally fine. Loads of stock, no queues at all. Only thing I couldn't get was boring packet stuffing. But oh the price of a Christmas food shop. Sweet Jesus in the manger.

Sainsburys here was literally empty! Nothing! My mum went for bits and bobs (not her big shop) and the shelves were bare.

Of course. It will be fine. You might need to be a bit flexible about what you're serving, but no one will go hungry and if you leave it late you'll get some lovely bargains.

I went to my local Morrison's at about 8pm and they had a lot of veg and meat, but no gammon. Also a lot of empty freezers. There were some nice bits being reduced with an expiry of 27th but couldn't get as we'll be away but I am cooking the main on boxing day.

We've ran out of wrapping paper so I'll be going today as soon as they open. Dithering between supermarket with the nice staff or the one with self scan. One is more pleasant, the other is far faster..

Went to Lidl as soon as it opened this morning. Loads of turkeys, duck, goose, stuffing and all manner of Christmas food discounted. They're clearly running Thier stocks low cos they're shut for 2 days but we managed to pick up loads of bits and pieces cheaper than usual.
