If your kids are constantly going mental screaming and shouting banging on the floor jumping etc.

Week day and weekend times would be appreciated. Just to make sure I'm not being unreasonable.

Just to confirm it's (playing) not tantrums etc.

Thanks in advance

Yes.

E.g. Power tools / drilling etc.

Also knocking the floor boards out. I know as I heard it one by one. He liked to start about 8pm onwards. Lovely guy as you can tell.

Playing at that hour? FFS, no wonder they’re feral, it’s ‘tired energy’

Keep a log and keep onto the council. It’s anti social.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 23/12/2017 00:24

I don’t mind DIY in the evenings, up until about 10. Especially with ‘normal’ neighbours who are just trying to get their bathroom/kitchen/whatever finished. But some twats are just that, twats and need telling.

oliveinacampervan · 23/12/2017 00:29

I wouldn’t have banging, screaming, shouting and floor jumping in the first place.

This ^

And your kids must be a special kind of noisy and boisterous if they can be heard by the neighbours when you're in a DETACHED house! Hmm

mummmy2017 · 23/12/2017 00:29

Who found the OFF switch on their children, as I looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

BulletFox · 23/12/2017 00:32

olive I think it's semi detached.

But yeah it's a little late to have to hear that sort of noise.

BrownLiverSpot · 23/12/2017 00:32

8pm at the latest, weekends and weekdays.
Same as I would do with any DIY or noisy housework.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 23/12/2017 00:33

The trick is to never press the “on” switch mummy Wink

Seriously though, you just teach your Dc when it’s appropriate to be a screamy and jumpy (outside, at the park, when granny is looking after them Grin ) and when it’s appropriate to be considerate of others in the house who might have ears.

ermagerdsnur · 23/12/2017 00:40

Detached house behind me have 3 DS - 11, 7 and 5.

I can hear them.

From 6.30 in the fucking morning.

They're just playing though so no harm....

BulletFox · 23/12/2017 00:46

erma a bit like an alarm clock?!

Viviennemary · 23/12/2017 01:09

I wouldn't tolerate noisy screaming jumping kids. Not sure if you can complain to the council about noisy children in the house. They do sound a nightmare though. Sounds as if you're just unlucky. Why not find some DIY that needs to be done right next to their bedroom if they won't do anything about the noise.

lunar1 · 23/12/2017 08:30

Do you own your house or is it council as well? If your is council I'd get a complaint in ASAP. If you are an owner I'd have a long think about if you want to remain there long term, the minute you put a complaint in officially, you would have to declare it when selling. Which would impact on your ability to sell.

Ashamedandblamed · 23/12/2017 13:37

I don't want to get in to tit for tat and be petty with my own DIY. However I did move bedrooms to lessen the noise and banging through the walls and didn't clock watch when putting up shelves etc as clearly they didn't either Grin
