AIBU to just stop eating?

To be fair the chances of me not eating are slim (unlike my good self!) but I feel like I want to...
I think I have IBS or something like that. I can’t figure out my triggers. I suspect hormones may play a part as period time and ovulation seem to inflame things like coffee...and maybe cheese and wheat?
I’ve cut out beef as I realised it was just not being digested well at all, and I’ve also cut down on garlic as that was definitely not good.
My bowel habits have changed recently. I am often a bit constipated or then other times have the runs.

I have the kids to take to panto tomorrow and I’ve not eaten tea as I had such an upset stomach earlier (cheese scone possibly? Or the proper coffee I had) and I’m thinking of just not eating much tomorrow- maybe porridge? To avoid risking it again...
next steps? A nutritionist? Dietician? Fodmap diet?

If your bowel habits have changed, when your diet hasn't, then I think GP would be my 1st port of call.

I find my IBS flares up not with specific foods but when I feel anxious, I've eaten too quickly or I don't take a moment after eating before I get up and do anything physical.

Could well be IBS. I seemed to go quite quickly from suffering from repeated bouts of acid indigestion into IBS-D. I still haven't got it totally under control but swapping dairy for lacto-free milk and cheese, cutting right back on wheat, eliminating caffeine and dodgy veg like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage has really helped.

No. You’re not BU.

Eat a little something that’s plain just so your stomach isn’t starving.

I have IBS and the less I eat the better. Basically steer clear or anything greasy or spicy or dairy.

Anxiety and nervousness are just as bad as food for it though. Rescue remedy and buscopan do help. Even if only by a placebo effect, but help is help!

Taking apple cider vinegar has really been a lifesaver for me. It takes disgusting. But it’s so so much better at settling my stomach than anything I’ve tried in the past. (Lots of antacids and peppermint, ginger, peptobismol etc etc.)

Google it. Really has made a crazy difference for me.

I have something along the lines of IBS-D and not eating helps. In fact I only eat in the evening after work or I wouldn't be safe to leave the house. If I have to be sociable and eat out I have to down plenty of Imodium and then I feel safer. IBS coupled with a 3rd degree tear = not a fun life.

Thanks all. I will definitely google Apple cider vinegar thank you... and get the Imodium in just to have in case...
I guess cutting down on fatty stuff (I’ve been a bit stressed and overeating recently) is no bad thing at all. Maybe my body is getting fed up of not being looked after.
Will eat little tomorrow and be careful not to eat fat/dairy etc.
Thank you.
