Maiu, naice, cancel the cheque etc!

Shamelessly posting here for traffic.
I am completing an application for my son to attend pre school in the local primary school in September 2018.
He is under the care of a speech therapist as he is classed as severely speech delayed and she has also referred him to the early intervention clinic for the autism assessment process.
2 questions

  1. There is a box on the form that asks is your child being assessed for special educational needs. Do I answer yes to that?
  1. If I do answer yes to the above in your opinion / experience does it burden his chances of getting a place?

For context the school is in a very affluent area and is very high performing. Top ofsted inspections etc.... I'm worried (wrongly) that if they see the SEN it will hinder our chances?

I think you have to answer yes. I'm not sure whether this will impact on him being offered a place but it's best to be upfront about everything.

Best of luck.

Read the TCs. If you answer no therecould be repercussions.

No, it won’t hinder his placement and may place him higher on the list depending on admissions criteria. It also means they can plan better for when they do have him.
