It cant just be me can it?
I currently work as a carer to supplement my income as a teacher.
I work through an agency. Apparently all the care homes were privatised in the summer . Most permanent staff left as wages were slashed so the agencies have been used to hire staff.

I turned up to work today and was told an hour into the shift that i had to go as the home couldnt hire staff from my agency as we arent trained properly. ( very true)
The poor autistic girl had an anxiety attack as she couldnt handle a fifth member of staff who she didnt know that day caring for her.Im not sure i will get paid for the shift.

To cap it all off my nhs dentist said it is now private.

Aibu to think that eveything is being privatised?

Aibu to think that this is grossly inefficient?

This is exactly what people have been warning of for ages. Underfund NHS services then sell them off to private firms. We were warned, now it’s happening.

malificent7 · 20/12/2017 17:42

What implications does it have for society?

Tory Britain.
Privatise services. Buy shares in said private companies. Send money to offshore accounts. Ensure people are too focused on single mothers and muslims to notice. Use terms like strong and stable and lefty loony snowflakes to hammer the point home. Convice everyone they have no choice as the leader of the opposition is a terrorist supporting commy who wants to steal all your money and give it to people who cant be bothered to work.

If you need someone to blame, blame the Conservative Party and those who voted for it.

You're wrong. It was the Labour government that changed dentists' contracts in 2006, meaning that most could not continue to provide solely NHS services.

I am far from being a conservative, but lay the blame where it belongs!
It was also labour that introduced PFI contracts in NHS and schools (25 year contracts!) and fees for universities.

You're wrong. It was the Labour government that changed dentists' contracts in 2006, meaning that most could not continue to provide solely NHS services.

But the lack of any moves to reverse the changes do signal Tory approval. And since they are in power (so they keep telling us) it's worth putting the blame where it lies, and judge accordingly.

As we can do for all policies Labour introduced, and the Tories let run.
