To do it all online?

Just that really. Has anyone else ordered the majority of their Christmas presents online?
I can't stand physically shopping, and queuing and masses of people.
I have a feeling the Amazon man already hates me!

I've always done x,as online for years I have 5sons and a stepson and a full time job ! They're grown up now but I couldn't have done it any other way when they were little .end of.

MammaTJ · 17/12/2017 20:36

I am disabled, unable to walk far officially confirmed by PIP, a rare event and use that as my excuse reason to not shop in real shops! My home town is a bit 'end of the earth' anyway, so not a lot to buy here.

I will go to Argos on Friday, when DP gets paid, but will order online on Thursday!

lucas161212 · 17/12/2017 20:56

I did the majority online as can’t face dragging two pre schoolers around the shops. Plus we have lots of birthdays in Nov/Dec so weekends always busy.

But going to try and do more actually going shopping next year as find I spend more doing it online.

Chimera246 · 17/12/2017 21:01

Like healthy, I won't step foot in a shop this Christmas, for gifts, cards or food.

BrizzleDrizzle · 17/12/2017 21:01

I've done all of it online, usually at 3am when I can't sleep. I'm at the local post office collecting every day.

missbattenburg · 17/12/2017 21:06

The only thing I have bought from a real shop is the tree which came from the garden centre - and there have been years I've bought that online too.

Food, presents, wrapping, advent calendars, drink all ordered online.

I bloody hate shops Xmas Grin

DuffyMoon · 17/12/2017 21:25

I do all mine online despite being surrounded by people who state that if you go near a computer your bank account will be instantly emptied by scammers online Hmm

Allthetuppences · 17/12/2017 21:25

Absolutely. So much more variety online. The shops are fine for generic back up options. With a toddler and the sheer numbers of people in shops even at usual quiet times only a bare cupboard will get me in an actual shop!

ChickenPaws · 17/12/2017 21:28

Most of ours is done online as well. Just a few bits from the supermarket for the stockings. There is no way at all that I’m visiting shops at this time of year, or indeed any time of year. Shops are horrific - too hot, crowded, smelly and bright.

Parker231 · 17/12/2017 21:29

Food, drink, presents - 100% online. I hate shops at this time of year.

LoveInTokyo · 17/12/2017 21:29

YANBU.

Shopping is hellish this time of year. Do it all online and you're more likely to find what you want and you can do it all from the comfort of your own sofa.

Shopping is WRONG, full stop. I thank the various non existent gods for the power of online shopping every time I do it. When the Tesco Gods send me food, and the Amazon Gods send me things i really don't want to trawl around town for, I am grateful indeed. I don't have a lot of money so I am careful with what I have. It means I'm also not likely to wander into a shop and overspend because I really can't afford to do that. Tesco and Amazon might be problematic because I get that, but I'm not a rich person so I go with what I can work with to get the most for my money.

Plus i also cannot guarantee the safety of people wanting me to sign up for rubbish I don't want on the street. Oh god - folks that pester you to sign up for catalogues - are they still a thing?

Bluelonerose · 17/12/2017 21:31

Most of mine online to. It's to much hassle to go out to the shops they're too hot and stuffy. Constant Xmas music, too many people. Not to mention parking.
I ordered everything from with sofa with a glass of wine.

cocoboots · 17/12/2017 21:32

Yes, 90% online here. I honestly can't see how shopping online at Christmas is affecting the high street. It's been absolutely heaving in Manchester , busier than I've ever seen it , yesterday you coul barely walk anywhere without being in a sea of people. Leeds also v v busy. I personally really dislike it, it's stressful, you get hot and bothered , people are in a bad mood because they're also stressed, kids crying , queues to buy anything , the shelves are a mess , urgh.

TheFairyCaravan · 17/12/2017 21:35

I haven’t been in a shop to buy Christmas presents for years. I’m disabled, I’d need my wheelchair which DH wouldn’t be able to push and carry bags.

I love shopping from a nice warm house and having it delivered.

SpartonDregs · 17/12/2017 21:37

Done it online for about a decade.

Topseyt · 17/12/2017 22:36

Most of it done online here. Much more civilised than trailing round crowded shops, though I do have a sneaking sympathy for delivery people, and for those working in Amazon warehouses etc.

YellowMakesMeSmile · 17/12/2017 22:59

Amazon prime all the way, love it. Some rarer bits off EBay and the odd token item from home bargains is all I've actually bought locally. Food being delivered too. So much easier and cheaper.

Just finished mine (except DH 's chocolate) online. Our apartment building can be a bother for deliveries so it's easier for us to go in store. I order online for store pick up to keep things simple since I'd have to drive out to the post office anyway.

Love Amazon since gifts can be gift wrapped to save me time and hassle.

DigitalGhost · 17/12/2017 23:12

I've ordered every single present on Amazon. I've seen the delivery driver every day pretty much since the middle of November. So much so he knows my babies nap time so he knocks quieter lol.

Originalfoogirl · 17/12/2017 23:15

I turned completely to online shopping about 5 years ago. I had trawled the high street for my list of about 15 things, came home with 5 things and was told “oh we can order that in for you” for the rest of it. All pretty mainstream items too. I can bloody order it in myself! Without having to go to the high street to collect it.

Shopping physically is a waste of time,

welshmist · 17/12/2017 23:19

Online, my sons want techie stuff which I hardly understand and clothes that are sporty specialist. Hubby likes specialist hobby stuff too. Having said that youngest still living at home wants to go to town tomorrow to buy presents for everyone. I am not looking forward to it. Boots are doing a 3 for 2, so if I am lucky will all be over and done with it then and there.

BillyAndTheSillies · 17/12/2017 23:20

Absolutely everything done online, apart from wrapping paper. Which turned out to be the most awkward thing out of the lot to carry home, curse you matalan and your beautiful wrapping paper!!

Madwoman5 · 17/12/2017 23:23

All major stuff online, stocking fillers from local shops.
