Just perusing DailyMail, as you do. Saw this article on Cindy Crawford's daughter. It's nothing to do with the content more just the photo. She's an extremely pretty girl but I find it SO sad that she looks so grown up. Her outfit it something a 20+ could wear. She just looks really sophisticated. When I was 16 I was wandering about with some dodgy looking jeans etc, I tried but I certainly didn't look grown up and sophisticated.

This isn't a dig at her or anything I just feel sad that girls seem to grow up so quickly. Even ordinary young girls (non celeb parents etc) look so made up with their eyelashes and eyebrows and clothes etc. I understand not all girls are like this, maybe it's just what I'm seeing. I just find it sad.....

I'm having a boy but would feel quite concerned about all this if I was having a girl, how I would cope with ensuring they still have a childhood etc. I guess boys also have problems in this area.

1. Different times, girls today are much more savvy.
2. Her mum is Cindy Crawford, she is never going to be marching about LA or NY wearing rubbish makeup and dreadful clothes (is her dad Richard Gere or am I remembering wrong.)
3. You must only ever read the Daily Mail for the comments, the best comments can be depressing, the worst comments can either destroy all faith in humanity or make you wet yourself laughing.

I just looked it up, seems ok to me? The shorts are, well, short but she's covered up aside from that.

She's a model isn't she, those pics are from shoots...
No doubt she wears normal teenage clothes when she's not working? I'm struggling to see the news in that article however.

My 16 year old daughter wears a full face of make up when she's out and about. She enjoys make up and is very good at it, it's nothing to be sad about. I don't particularly like the scary eyebrows, but it's her face.

When she gets home she takes it off, puts her sponge bob onsie on, and is the same girl she was with the slap on. Wearing make up has no bearing on her as an individual.

It's because we seem to be going backwards in our views of age.

Now a 16 year old is seen as a child by many people whereas even just 30/40 years ago, people were leaving school at 15/16 and going straight into full time work.

Not uncommon then to get married before 20 and have several children before the age of 25. Now, people seem quite surprised if anyone gets married in their early 20s let alone teens.

Sorry, yes the rest are catwalk which I understand. I meant the first picture where she's wearing that blue outfit at an event. I'm mean she isn't wearing revealing clothes or anything it's just so grown up!!
And yes daily mail just for the comments, obvs!

I have teen girls.
They wear make-up: on stage only, almost never off stage.
Most of the time they wear leggings and a top, dd2 sometimes wears jeans or dungarees.

They're what you mean by wearing "normal clothes".
However if they are doing a photo shoot they would wear very different clothes.

Sophisticated? Really?

She looks like a typical ill-dressed tasteless teen to me. Those shorts with that puffer jacket is far from a sophisticated combination. They're mismatched and look daft...just as teens often do, wanting to show off their legs and wear the 'in' label at the same time.

Don't feel sad for her. I'm sure she's just fine.

You have a different idea of sophistication to mine. That is not a mature look by my estimation.
