AIBU in leaving the Bountys and eating the other flavours because I'm the only one who likes coconut? It means we all get a crack equally for the rest of the chocolates, then I get to swoop in and eat the mini Bountys all by myself at the end. I even look like a bit of a hero at the end, bravely eating the unwanted leftovers.

Sneaky greedy bastard or shrewd chocolate tactician?

Genius!

I can't believe I've never done this.

(BTW ....have you all discovered dark chocolate Bounty? I only discovered they existed very recently.)

badbadhusky · 17/12/2017 12:34

Dark chocolate Bounty is not dairy-free, mind. Boo for vegans!

Solina · 17/12/2017 13:45

I was inspired by this thread to buy some celebrations as I love bounty. But instead I asked DP to pick up heroes for whatever stupid reason Sad
His reply was that its just an excuse to buy even more chocolate later Grin oh and no I dont think YABU Grin

gunsandbanjos · 17/12/2017 14:01

I used to do this as I was the only one at home who liked coffee roses/quality street. Then the buggers stopped putting coffee flavours in.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 17/12/2017 14:06

Hahaha, my trick exactly. I like the coffee ones (don't actually like coffee) but don't want to just have those because nobody else in our house does so I leave them til last! Grin I can justify it because they usually have a lot more chocolate than me so I'm just evening things out!

lidoshuffle · 17/12/2017 14:08

Someone bought a tin of QS for the office last week. They are absolutely vile now, but used to be lovely when I was a kid.

Giraffesarequitetall · 17/12/2017 15:41

Apart from Giraffearequitetall, who we can assume works for the Russian government and is trying to destabilise Mumsnet.

GrinGrin spotted! looks like I may have to name change now GrinGrin

PinkHeart5914 · 17/12/2017 15:43

I like your style, I bow down to you awesomeness! However this is mumsnet and somebody will be along to tell you how greedy you are

TenancyTroublesAgain · 17/12/2017 15:51

Haha, I was holding a Bounty ready to open as I opened this thread.

KurriKurri · 17/12/2017 15:53

YABU for liking the Bounties, Whoever thought of putting coconut in a sweet (or indeed in anything) is a baddie of comic book proportions - much like you OP Grin

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 17/12/2017 15:58

That wins gold in the chocolate olympics.

I think I'm in the running for a silver, though. I always wait until the evening's TV offering is nearly finished before opening the Chocolate Orange...because I know he'll go to bed after HIGNFY and I can finish it off by myself while watching The Crown. Grin

typo55 · 17/12/2017 16:11

I like both bounties and snickers yet keep this under wraps until they are only ones left - Goldenburg cunning staffroom tactics can only be applauded and those who say otherwise are just disappointed their galaxy/malteser choccies have long gone Wink

GeekyWombat · 17/12/2017 16:11

I’m eyeing up our Christmas tub of Celebrations now and it’s all your fault!

IrkThePurist · 17/12/2017 16:12

Yanbu, you are a genius. Please use your powers for good, not evil Grin

Haffiana · 17/12/2017 16:17

OMG you eat more than one chocolate per Christmas? Do you know how many calories there are if you eat them??

What on earth is wrong with hummus and a carrot stick ffs? Do you want to get FAT?!!

LockedOutOfMN · 17/12/2017 16:18

There are no celebrations in our staffroom. Sad

MsHomeSlice · 17/12/2017 16:20

dh has done this for years with Quality street....eats MY green triangles and purple ones, and then gets all the toffee pennies and toffee fingers to himself. I should have ltb years ago.

mustbemad17 · 17/12/2017 16:20

So which of you cunning bastards wants our Bounty hoard??? Only me & DD here...neither of us eat the buggars but I am loathe to bin them 🙄 Then when i reeeally want chocolate they goad me. Twats

Bowerbird5 · 17/12/2017 16:27

They don't last that long in our staff room.Took two for later one break, didn't go up at lunch time and went to put lunch in fridge the next morning. Not even a Bounty or a fudge left from big £5 tub!

badbadhusky · 17/12/2017 17:02

The big tubs aren’t that big any more - shrinkflation, innit?

TalkinBoutWhat · 17/12/2017 17:57

Gin - Cherry Ripes??? I miss Cherry Ripes soooo much.

N0tNowBernard · 17/12/2017 18:26

We buy celebrations now. We used to get Roses or Quality Street but Quality Street smell like poo when you take the lid off the tin! Once we noticed it we couldn't 'un-notice' it Confused

Rebeccaslicker · 17/12/2017 19:32

YAB so F U...

Who eats BOUNTIES?! Vile!

Renrute · 02/12/2022 15:19

I believe they have removed Bounty from selection boxes. Not a popular choc.
