To wonder why my mum wants to bring out naked baby pictures of my now 30 year old son at family parties

I mean, is it normal? We're a big family, so I didn't realise until my son mentioned it to me after, and that he was bothered by it. I don't get on very well with my mum, so have lost sight of whether normal people do that kind of thing.

Not normal in my family. The only person who has done something similar was trying to embarrass the person who they were talking about (his own daughter!).

TheQueenOfWands · 16/12/2017 22:57

Control thing.

Shows that she has the ability to embarrass him whenever she fancies.

Oh good. Thanks both of you

What's there to be embarrassed about, he was baby Hmm What's embarrassing about that? I don't it.

bigbluebus · 17/12/2017 20:29

Good grief no, it's definitely not normal. We have just put together a 'This is your Life' type photo album for DS for a special birthday. We found some pictures of him naked when he was born and also in the paddling pool as an 8 month old. The pictures did not go in the album.

Despite the fact I was a baby, I do not want naked pictures of myself waved around at family gatherings.

Nobody in my family would dream of doing it except the one person who desperately was trying to embarass his daughter by telling everyone how she had a massive nappy blowout all in tights and over dress and trying to wave the pictures under people's noses. She was totally mortified and only feeling better because everyone chose to ignore him and shuffle her off to a different room to get her away. It was just nasty and clearly he was trying to get a reaction, carrying on even though she was getting upset.

Perfectly fine for most people. It's a baby.

But if it makes him uneasy, she shouldn't do it.

It's a rude silly thing to do. She needs to cut it out.

As for nappy blowout pictures....WTF? I understand people taking a few naked baby pictures because they can be cute. But nappy blowout pictures? Who even takes a photo of that (let along waves it around in front of people)?

I had to ask a friend of mine to take naked baby pictures off her Facebook (she did, after I pointed out that FB security is crap and things can get leaked). I don't want photos like that on my screen.
