Am I mad? I'm now convinced that right wing american christian fundamentalists are taking the shoe boxes and distributing with christian literature. Have researched the web. I know it's April, but hey, Hilary Clinton has started her campaign already.

Please look at this page before you make up your mind.
Whatever you do, while you are busy trying to find that special gift for someone special to you, give something to some-one who has nothing this Christmas

p.s. In response to professorplum's posting please be assured that all shoeboxes are given UNCONDITIONALLY.

Hi everyone! For me doing a shoebox with my kids has been hugely rewarding as it gave me an opportunity to explain how well off they are compared to kids in poor countries. Sure I could have just sent money but my kids wouldn't have had so much fun choosing presents for their 'child'! I heard some schools were cancelling shoeboxes this year. That's sad isn't it, I guess loads of kids who have nothing won't miss the shoeboxes but people have lost the opportunity to show them we care

Hi Katie4U!

Most newcomers to Mumsnet don't post the same message on four ancient threads about the same subject! It makes people suspicious that you might not be a genuine poster!!

(Did someone tell samaritan's purse or operation christmas child that people on MN don't like them?)
