So I have just sat and done DC1's Santa letter with him. We have talked a lot about how it would be really cool for Santa to bring him a super cool blue big boy scooter with two wheels (His main gift) and for months this has been agreed that it's what he would ask Santa for.

But noooooo this morning he insists he has changed his mind and won't accept anything other than a fucking 'grand old duke of York toy soldier.

I am now panicking and cant find anything that hits the mark online. please help mumsnet!

They have them at some garden centres - this is near me - but I prefer the plush one!

I told DS (just 5) he could could choose a Christmas decoration in the garden centre yesterday and he was desperate for one of the nutcracker ones in Rebecca's picture (I blame CBeebies). We talked about how it was an ornament not a toy and he was still fixed on it so we got it (£4.99) and so far he's been great with it, very sensible and not chucking it about. He also made it watch The Nutcracker with him.

Are you a crafty or knitting type op www.thefizzkidzclub.co.uk/imagesact/thegrandolddukeofyorkfrenchknitting.pdf

I’m sure he’ll be really happy with the scooter! When I was that age I asked for “a flying broomstick like the Worst Witch has” ... I had some vague idea that they must sell them at B&Q Xmas Grin but I wasn’t disappointed with my actual Christmas presents.
