What motivated you to get out of bed in the morning?

Sorry, weird question, but I'm quite curious.

I've been going through a bit of a bad patch since late last year, and was just thinking recently that I'm not sure what motivates me - apart from, maybe, being a bit stubborn and competitive, and having a bit of an 'I'll show you' attitude sometimes Wink.

I just need some motivation to help me keep on applying for jobs, and could do with a bit of inspiration please :)

Thanks :)

The cat. I also have two large 7 kg turkeys to cook, 5kgs of carrots to peel, and 10kgs of potatoes and parsnips to prep.
Church Christmas lunch tomorrow for our 'ladies group'.

I have a chronic and debilitating illness (Psoriatic Arthritis if anyone’s interested), sometimes it’s practically physically impossible to get out of bed, but I think fuck you Arthritis, no way are you winning today!

So being stubborn as fuck and refusing to be beaten is my motivation.

It doesn’t always work mind you but you get what I mean!

I've got to turn out the horses and muck out.

Not working today - my motivation for getting up this morning was to let the dog out, thereby avoiding coming down to a poo on the carpet Xmas Grin!

@WellAlwaysHaveParis - do any of the suggestions on this thread inspire you?

Similar to what Kungfueric and another pp said.... if I were you, I’d start looking for something to do NOW while I’m looking for what I’d like to do on a more permanent basis.

Tbh, being able to ask what motivates others to get up in the morning is outside the realms of most people’s reality- we have no choice, for lots of reasons. Even if you volunteer (there are dozens of schemes that might interest you) you’ll be getting yourself out there, helping others and adding to your work experience. Do anything that gets you out of the house; I guarantee it’ll lead to better things eventually.

ofthread I use the pomodoro technique too, I only found out about it about 6 months ago and it has totally transformed my work day on days where I'm just not feeling it and need a push to get things done!

The cat crying for food. plus the fact she'd done a big stinky one in the litter tray and I could smell it from the bedroom

My DD, who is such an enthusiastic little person and starts every day so happily and with such positivity. It’s a tonic for me (not a morning person, prone to depression).

Work. It’s money.

The puppy
He is, unfortunately, a morning dog
And has taken to trying to stand on my head for attention (when I'm lying down obvs)

My kid shouting ‘Mummy, I want breakfast!’

Kid’s gotta eat. I’d happily have stayed in there all day otherwise.
