I would have gone for Michaela and Sarah Lynn. I think Sarah Lynn’s business is rather dull and unoriginal, but she herself seems more investable than most of the others. I thought Joanna had the best business idea but obviously zero experience.

My overriding thought, however, is that surely there is someone out there in the UK with a more original and interesting business idea than a confectionary company or recruitment business! I guess such people maybe don’t want to go on the apprentice though!!

Michaela was by far the most investable. Though having used the products of her competitors it would be a damn hard business to get started properly. She way underestimates the amount of researchers required to build a database on constantly shifting information.

strawberryclouds · 13/12/2017 22:58

I was so shocked that Sarah was chosen. Michaela is the superior businesswoman and has a much better business plan; Sarah's idea is bland and she can't even create a functioning website! Very strange choice.

ringle · 13/12/2017 23:06

Michaela should go into business with Ruth Badger

VenusOfWillendorf · 13/12/2017 23:06

YANBU, I wanted Elizabeth and Michaela in the final, and neither of them are Confused
None of the candidates were great but at least those two are memorable and entertaining to watch. I did think Michaela was the best of them and should have won. Though my favourite was Elizabeth!

SciFiFan2015 · 13/12/2017 23:11

Watched a recording. I screamed nnnooooo when Michaela was fired.

I think she was brilliant and should have been in the final with Sarah.

Insomnibrat · 13/12/2017 23:12

Totally agree. Michaela was the only viable person and business and James has shown himself to be manipulative, lying, conniving, dishonest. Absolute spiv in a suit.

I think Sugar wants his finger in a 'recruitment' pie though.

MotherCupboard · 13/12/2017 23:14

I dont think i can be arsed to watch the final. I wanted Michaela there and im still not sure why she's not.

LittleBirdBlues · 13/12/2017 23:16

I think michaelas attitude towards men has been really odd throughout, so Im not a fan of hers in that basis. But I do think she's a good businesswoman and her business plan was definitely the best out of the five!

I think on balance it should have been her and Elizabeth in the final (I loved Elizabeth!).

Moanaohnana · 13/12/2017 23:24

I was also gutted to see Michaela go. It should have been her to win.

James is an utter nothingy creep. Just a little boy with a big opinion of himself and ridiculously whitened teeth.

Sarah is dull, unpleasant and has spent 7 years getting to the stage where she can put sweets in cups and have a crap broken website. Not exactly flair is it?

MarshaBradyo · 13/12/2017 23:29

Very annoying. Had to say nooo out loud to the bad decision

Annoys me when AS does this, there’s been a few times

scrabbler3 · 13/12/2017 23:36

I found Sarah insipid but nice. Joanna's a rookie.

I thought that Michaela and Elizabeth would be the finalists. I thought that both would have appealed to Lord S. He doesn't usually care for the more bland candidates.

justgivemethepinot · 13/12/2017 23:40

Ah, kind of forgot to carry on watching this when I'm a Celebrity started but looks like I ultimately haven't missed much. I liked Michaela.

Thymeout · 14/12/2017 00:07

I think Karen wanted Michaela. I'd think there was a market among medium-scale developers who couldn't afford the big firms.

Does anyone know what happened to last year's winner? The cake maker?

Don't think I'll bother with the final. Sarah has a naff product and I wouldn't trust James as far as I could throw him.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/12/2017 00:12

James was exposed as being totally dishonest in the interview. Hope the trade organisation whose logo he dishonestly displayed sues the arse off him.

Typical overpriviliged little boy with a massive sense of entitlement.

LightDrizzle · 14/12/2017 00:13

I couldn’t believe James’ dishonest appropriation of the accreditation on his was glossed over as “a rookie mistake”. He should have been out there and then.
I was so disappointed and astonished when he fired Michaela, she was streets ahead of the rest. She’s the only one I warmed to at all.

Whitecurrants · 14/12/2017 00:33

None of them looked terribly impressive but I would have gone for Michaela and James in the final with Michaela to win. Sarah’s business idea is way too generic.

Alicecooperslovechild · 14/12/2017 00:46

I would have fired James for his dishonesty in making false claims on his website and Sarah for the complete lack of USP. Michaela seems to be by far the most driven candidate with the best prospects but I don't think that her ideas could be realised with a £250k investment. I think that, with a good mentor, she will succeed anyway. Elizabeth would be difficult to work with and seemed to want rather create a new Interflora with the investment and I agree that the other candidate, whose name I have inexcusably forgotten, probably has the best idea but needs more experience to pull it off.

It would be interesting to see how much all of the investments have actually generated.

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/12/2017 00:55

Suralan has form for overlooking dishonesty. As he already owns a recruitment firm I wonder if he's thinking he could expand that interest?
The sweets business seems terrible to me.
In the past some of the ideas were really interesting. Not this crop! Seems it's more about the process than the end result.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 14/12/2017 01:04

Does anyone know what happened to last year's winner? The cake maker?

She exhibited at the Good Food Show this year. Her cakes looked beautiful but were all chocolatey so I couldn't try one.

Ellie56 · 14/12/2017 01:39

Michaela should have won.

Ceto · 14/12/2017 01:48

What always irritates me about this is that there is so little connection to what they have done in the programme so far. If Joanna's business idea is so obviously crap, they could have discovered that before she started and saved her the bother of winning all those tasks.

maddiemookins16mum · 14/12/2017 06:54

Plastic tubs of cheap sweets - wtf!! Alanna last year did 'food' too (but at least they looked semi decent). I hardly think 'A Quarter of' are quaking in their boots at present.
Such dull business plans compared to lovely Joe the plumber a few years ago and even the American lassie with her dating app.

Cherrypi · 14/12/2017 07:17

There was a stall on our town market trading under Alana’s brand the other week.

TDHManchester · 14/12/2017 07:26

Its always the same on the Apprentice. A bunch of freshly scrubbed bullshitters with travel bags pitching up as if they are the big I am usually with a rather more than embellished portfolio and a few downright lies thrown in.

Given them a proper job and well, most couldn't find their own backsides in the dark with both hands.

Witness the cult of the young "professional" in all its glory.

Mr Sugar must have been on crack last night as Michaela was clearly the best of a bad bunch. She actually had something that was up and running, she was outspoken and had guts. The other two?? oh please,,,selling jars of swizzels on a broken internet site? An IT recruitment consultancy firm? Been done..

Michaela's proposal was flawed but she as a candidate was the strongest.

Her plan,,a business directory accessing planning permissions all over the country and charging people to be registered to access the info to pitch for the work. Membership fee? about £4k PA.

Oh dear,, I have worked in this sector and surprise surprise,, all planning data is free of charge on every council website across the land. Its public info.

As for individual trades paying £4k to join,,hahahahaaa,,only a mug would do that.

Leonard1 · 14/12/2017 07:27

Team Michaela here. I think SARAH showed she is mature and has integrity but I can’t get inspired by her business plan. This year was not nearly as good as previous years.
