To ask what you did if your babies didn't like Nursery?

DS (11 months) is starting Nursery next month 2 days a week when I go back to work. DD (4) settled in really well when she went, but DS is such a different baby he's very clingy. FIL looked after him tonight while we went on a date night and from what I can tell DS screamed the whole time (2 hours). He's just not good with other people, and now I'm panicking about Nursery. What did you do if your LO didn't like Nursery? I've got a feeling this is going to be a battle, poor little fella Sad

We persevered.

DS, skipped off to Nursery when he was 1, not a care in the world.
DD was, still is, far clingier. She cried when I dropped her for years. Nursery always assured me that she was OK the moment I left. Even now at 6, she gives me a hard time for taking her to breakfast club.

I felt like dc2 wouldn't like nursery so he went to a childminder who he bonded with and absolutely loved. Started preschool 2 mornings a week from 2.5.

I'm sure he'll settle but Could you try a childminder instead? He might do better in a 1:1 set up

My DD was like your DS. It was a real worry, but she was in three days per week and was settled within two weeks. Her key worker was great, figuring that DD needed to be left to explore rather than carried to be "comforted", which would have made her worse. They did comfort her, but from more of a distance at the beginning. Very soon she was really happy there. Good luck!
