To think Hey Duggee is witchcraft? Any kids / xmas films that can engross young toddlers?

My boys (15mo) are absolutely transfixed by Hey Duggee - they could literally watch it on repeat for hours and not look away. We are all really poorly so there's been lots of CBeebies action over the past few days but it's sending me a bit mental.

Clearly Duggee and whatever else contains some sort of child-hypnotising black magic that they find it so entertaining, but I put on Arthur Christmas yesterday and they didn't last two mins before getting bored.

Are there any actual films that are as entertaining to kids of this age as CBeebies programmes? Would be nice to have some snotty movie cuddle time.

My 22mo will only watch Duggee or Melody. That's fine until I want to watch something! She screams if I even try to put something else on.

Having said that, the stick badge is the best thing I've watched this year.

Me and four year old friend really enjoy the Storybots animal songs. 'Walk like a camel' is particularly good

Stick song is very interesting when you've got a speach delayed kid in the house who pronounces "st" as "d". Blush

evensmilingmakesmyfacehurt · 09/12/2017 21:00

Sticky sticky stick stick...

DS loooooooves Hey Duggee as do I but he is also hypnotised by Moana and weirdly, Go Jetters (that ubercorn has skilled me up in geography with his funky facts though)

The CBeebies pantomimes seem to have some strange hypnotic effect on him as well.

He likes Gigglebiz too but that can fuck right off thank you very much

ShovingLeopard · 09/12/2017 21:11

Surely the Juice Badge is the best Duggee?!

woofmiaowwoof · 09/12/2017 21:11

Winnie the Pooh - the heffalumps and woozles more traditional one - oth dc loved it at age 2. I love that film for all the quiet moments it brought me!

CaveMum · 09/12/2017 21:12

I too came in just to say:

Stick stick stick stick sticky sticky stick stick Grin

DD (3.9) loves PJ Masks, Paw Patrol and Super Monsters (Netflix)

She recently watched the film Arthur Christmas and loved that.

ShovingLeopard · 09/12/2017 21:16

Have you tried Stickman, the Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, etc?

44PumpLane · 09/12/2017 21:25

Oh my god I love love love Hey Duggee!!! I've put it on series link so I don't miss it! Grin

Nanny0gg · 09/12/2017 21:27

MrsMotherHen · 09/12/2017 21:30

I love the stick badge one I was laughing for ages after it had finished now me and DS2 keep singing STICK STICK STICK STICK STICK STICKY STICKY STICK STICK

CaveMum · 09/12/2017 21:32

Yes, if you have Amazon Prime all the Julia Donaldson animations are on there.

HateSummer · 09/12/2017 21:34

Dd2 (4) downloaded they Hey Duggee app on my iPad for £2.99 Angry.

The only thing that engrosses her is Ryan’s toy review. Horrible.

Grimbles · 09/12/2017 21:39

Oh god. My DS loves Ryan and his annoying mum too. And izzys toy time and has just found blippi Angry

CanIGoToBedNow · 09/12/2017 21:39

Do you have the Sky tv? If you do then Baby TV is your friend and it’s horrific at the same time.

If you don’t do you have a smart TV? If you do then go to the YouTube and look for Little Baby Bum - again it’s horrific but the kids love it

Cornettoninja · 09/12/2017 21:45

Baby tv is good if you can get past the weird Russianness of it (how does it make money?!?)

Over the last year 2 year old dd has become a firm fan of frozen, minions/despicable me, moana and curious George. I'm quite grateful for a fairly decent rotation to be perfectly honest!

Nanny0gg · 09/12/2017 22:03

The Muppet Movie has very good songs. Engrossed my DGC.

HateSummer · 09/12/2017 22:07

Grimbles Yes! His mum’s whiney voice and his weird dad being forced into being funny. It’s so cringey and weird...I have no idea why kids like them though!

TammySwansonTwo · 09/12/2017 22:08

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I will check them out.

The only thing that engrosses them is pop music videos (mainly inappropriate ones). They love Lady Gaga, and whenever Megan Trainor comes on they get a look on their face like a hungry cartoon character picturing a walking chicken drumstick.

Just youtubed the stick song...not sure my life will be the same again now! Especially as DS(3) overheard and started playing it on repeat...Shock

DS is a huge fan of paw patrol and Blaze if you're looking for more inspiration
