This is far from problem of the year. In fact just a minor irritation. Just want to know why a company selling teenage clothes think this is necessary.
I ordered an item of clothing for my 15yr old. Neither she nor I are shy or retiring pearl clutchers. However I am a bit irked by the packaging that this item arrived in.
Please explain if I am simply being too thick to 'get' it - but really? 'Feminists' ? 'Girl-gang' ? 'Contains Dope Shit' ? AIBU to think this company is just trying too hard and it's all a bit unnecessary and annoying.

I’m assuming the people who don’t think this is shit and cringeworthy would be happy with 15 year old lads receiving clothing in a bag that said “F*ck the girls club”?
Nope
Didn’t think so
Double standards

CaoNiMa · 07/12/2017 13:59

Arse-clenchingly cringe. I can just imagine the team meeting where it was mooted.

Mamabear4180 · 07/12/2017 14:04

That's awful. I don't care if I'm pearl clutchy or whatever, I don't think that's appropriate for a teenager.

DeadGood · 07/12/2017 14:05

Yeah it looks pretty awful.

linspins · 07/12/2017 14:17

Yuk. Unnecessary.

Yeahsureokay · 07/12/2017 14:20

Yeah, embarrassingly childish. Gives off desperate vibes. I'm not that old but I still would have found it stupid if I were younger.

Fuck the boys? How very feminist, that will certainly help our cause. 🙄

Idiots.

Maudlinmaud · 07/12/2017 14:25

Well I don't like it. My language is pretty colourful at the best of times but still. No.

CeciliaBartolli · 07/12/2017 14:28

Even Holland Barrett have stuff like Totally Sick Semolina or Completely Wavy Marsmallows. Okay I made it up. But only a little bit.
I suppose it could just have said 'Ho's Clo'es.'
That would have been worse.

MrRayaUmasTurban · 07/12/2017 14:38

It's horrible and I'd return it.

RandomDreams · 07/12/2017 14:38

It's a bit 'try hard'.

AbsentmindedWoman · 07/12/2017 14:42

Of course it's too try hard.

But I'm cheered it's trying hard in the direction of feminism rather than being plastered with 'sexy' or 'hot' like it would've been in my day circa 15 years ago.

Branleuse · 07/12/2017 14:45

meh

AbsentmindedWoman · 07/12/2017 14:45

Yeahsureokay I'm taking it that 'fuck the boys' in this instance means flipping them the bird given the rest of the branding. Not physically fucking.

tendergreenbean · 07/12/2017 15:58

Just spotted "fuck the boys".
I thought feminism was about gender equality, not misandry.
Very unhealthy attitude, imagine the reaction if reversed.

kittensinmydinner1 · 07/12/2017 20:32

Sorry for posting and running off. My mother fell over her own front door step so spent the afternoon looking after her as she refused to go to A&E..
Anyway thanks for the replies. I think it's all a bit try too hard . The company is called Missy Empire.
Not sure I care enough to boycott them - but it's all a bit sad that they think this is how to appeal to teenagers.

It's pathetic and cringey. It sounds really fake.

Hope your Mum is ok OP.

goose1964 · 07/12/2017 20:42

Obviously dope means something to different to what I know it as slang for
