Jesus Christ it's a bad cold.
Today's his only day off this week I've got an MA deadline on fri he promised he'd look after ds this afternoon but he's been in his pit since eating a massive lunch.
I'm going to end up doing school run, dinner time bath time and bedtime solo now and then have to do a load of work. Plus ds bday party this weekend loads to do no breaks 😩 But DH is sooooooo ill 🤔

God, men are so fragile.

He doesn't have flu, he'd not be able to eat that much he's just being over dramatic. I mean they're so precious that shit like this exists.

I'd be tempted to carry your child upstairs, dump him on your bloke and go and get on with what you need to do. He's got a cold, it's not the end of the world.

It's a website called manflu.com and it's a real line of produce that you can find in boots, because masculinity is so fragile. :D

I empathise op. I have a dh with 'a chest infection'. Gp said it's a virus. Fair enough he feels rough. But he always gets the same viruses I do, yet suffers twice as badly and for twice as long. Oh, and it renders him useless throughout. Since Monday I've been taking care of a sick baby who can't go to the cm, attempting to work from home when dd lets me and running 7yo Dr to and from school, cm and various other activities. All the time while dh mopes around the house with a pained expression on his face, grumping at everyone and generally making life miserable.

Nah, anyone who is eating a full meal is not ill enough to shirk their duties. I mean, I’ve had various viruses where I’ve felt a bit rubbish and lacking in energy, usually a cold, but I go to work get through the day and also eat even if the food tastes funny and I don’t eat a full portion, then colllapse in the sofa and do nowt else all night. in those circumstances you should look after a child, definitely.

If I am PROPERLY ill, as in “absolutely must be in bed lying still, with a sick bowl, feeling shivery/sweaty and awful” then there’s no way I want food. And no way I could look after a child either (thank god for my Mum who has helped in those circumstances in the past)

I meant to add, those PROPERLY ill in bed times, I am not well enough to go out to the GP even.

Christ, I've got the school lurgy (dry cough, sinusitis, headache etc) on top of an RA flare and usual auto immune balls, and have been into work everyday. Fluwankers make me seethe. I had flu last year, and didn't eat or move for a week, then spent another week barely pottering. I felt ill for 6 weeks!
