Does anyone have any good stories of expressing milk at work? My experiences have been hilarious so far

I work in a very male environment, on an old site. I am the first to express milk on site. Men have tried to do their best and have bought me a new fridge, however, it's been a catalogue of errors so far.....

My pumping room is a conference room sometimes used by 10 men for meetings...
The new fridge is prominent in that room.
The corridor where the room is has been locked when I have wanted to go to get my milk.
I've been given a master key that didn't unlock the right door.
I've been unable to access the corridor to express.

So, there have been days when I've sat cross-legged on the floor of the stationery room, pumping, with a makeshift 'do not disturb' sign, then wrapped my milk bottle in paper and put it into the communal fridge, and then later, had to get security to get me access to the corridor to get my milk. I have been trying to see the humour.

Luckily, my milk production isn't stopping, and I am determined to break the barriers and have the right facility in place for future women. Any simpler stories for pumping?

I'm pumping at work right now Grin

I book a meeting room, draw blinds and carefully position a flip chart. Lock the door and pump away.

I pimped st work for a year with dc1. No reason I won't again for dc2.

Good on you op for pushing through the changes at work.

Have you considered a cooler bag?

I had a really good lunchbox type thing from Amazon that was plastic so kept it cold for a few hours AND had a discreet fabric cover so that it could go in the fridge at work without freaking anyone out.

I figured anyone who took off the cover deserved all they got!

My classroom was used as a corridor and the doors couldn't be locked so I couldn't use that. I could use the first aid room before and after school but not at breaks. DHT offered her office but it had a window.

I gave up.

We're a small office, no meeting rooms, no unused rooms or walk in stationary cupboard so I had to use the loo - we only had one so I had to give a discreet warning.

Sadly I quite enjoyed it, it was pretty much the only time I had on my own, and I read or watched films on my tablet.

The bottled were kept in a small chill bag in the bottom of the office fridge. Nobody was bothered.
