I know he is doing nothing illegal but morally, he is a twat.

A man on Facebook has bought a good few 'fingerlings' that are now sold out everywhere. Their RRP is £15, he's sells them for £25. It just makes my blood boil Angry.

AIBU to think he's a CF?

And I'm sure he's declaring his extra income to HMRC Hmm

I've two surplus ones I bought in November and if I could sell them for £25 each I would because that would pay for PS4 game that I my DSS wants for Christmas. Sadly, eBay seems flooded with them at the moment. No one has to buy them at marked up prices.

berliozwooler · 04/12/2017 06:44

I hadn't even heard of them but they are £10 on eBay.

HuskyMcClusky · 04/12/2017 06:45

Of course it’s capitalism.

It’s also mean, if it means children will miss out at Christmas.

He can indulge his admirable capitalist ingenuity by reselling tat for adults, surely.

Butterfr33 · 04/12/2017 06:46

Of course no one has to buy one, I know that. I don't see anything wrong with selling one on that you no longer need. But to go out and buy a dozen to sell at a much higher cost at Christmas time makes you a prick IMO.

He's not selling to kids, he's selling to adults.

Judgment day😆

More fool those paying his prices. Good luck to him.

worlybear · 04/12/2017 07:11

Butterfr 33. Totally agree with you. I think it's disgusting too.

ZigZagandDustin · 04/12/2017 07:12

You don't have to buy kids everything they want because you love them. There's billions of alternatives. It's the adults getting caught up in 'must have' when they should know better.

JonSnowsWife · 04/12/2017 07:12

I'm with you OP. Definitely a GB.

There doesn't have to be extortionate markups on everything. I got mine from a well known discount store for DS = £15.

I think it's twattish to pay inflated prices because your child will be so upset to not have one tiny piece of tat when they'll get buckets if other tat.

He's also taken a risk sticking them when maybe they wouldn't become the must have in the end.

JonSnowsWife · 04/12/2017 07:16

I don't get 'must have' though and wouldn't entertain the concept of a child NEEDING a specific toy.

Well ot course no has to buy one or need one. But DS is autistic and it is literally the only thing he has asked for for Christmas this year. I just got lucky in the sense I spotted them and got one before they were all sold out. They were plenty in the window when I got DSs. I can guarantee a good couple would have been bought with the intention to sell for twice the price on arsebook but thankfully some shops have sensibly started putting a limit on how many a customer can have.

MargotLovedTom1 · 04/12/2017 07:17

How is he any different from a ticket tout, and people don't tend to think they're just 'making a living'?

There are sellers on Amazon charging £69.99 for the things though!

Bubblebubblepop · 04/12/2017 07:19

Pmsl at the tax posts. Because big corporates are so ethical with their tax regimes. Hello Amazon!

I doubt very much this simple practise makes your blood boil. If people pay twice the price for a Christmas toy that's their look out.
